Dedrick is really growing on me and whilst I was amazed when Bobby picked him for the League Cup semi-finals against the rags and he did pretty good. I can now see what he sees in him. A livewire wild card to have a good impact this season methinks. Granted he played against nowt tonight, yet I see excellent potential in this guy given he's still just a young pup. One in the eye for the rag press who say we're ruining football.

I love SWP but I really think he's just not good enough. He doesn't take on his man nearly enough considering his God give ability and pace. he still lacks a decent cross. I really want him to wow me the way he did when he broke through or when he single handedly destroyed United. Its almost like he's lost a yard of pace. But what really gets on my nerves about him is when we break at speed he gets the ball and instead of turning and getting at the op, he cuts inside, turns and rolls the ball back into midfield giving the stretched opposition time to get back in position. I can't help but feel AJ would of roasted those fullbacks tonight.

Your right, I think he's more of a confidence player than we might think, and I think he's lost his mental place in the team, unsure of himself, doubting himself, and it shows.

Fuclin good to ave him as one of our squad though isn't it. I just told my Bro that I think all we need now is a top jolly striker like Drogba, Dzeko. Super Mario may be the man though but I just ave a feeling that when it comes on top against the big boys, we need a proper goal scorer to put the shits up em.

Don't see why people have got it in for SWP so much.If he is now behind AJ in the league squad surely what he did tonight by scoring a goal should be enough.
And now AJ will be raring to go against Sunderland and Bobby has not had to risk him or worry about him getting injured.
I think SWP has done evrything that can be expected of him.

So long as his time is limited to Carling Cup and some Europe League, fine. I think it's outrageous if he gets time in the league squad though.

I used to love watching SWP at Maine Road and Eastlands, where I sit he was so close up and just running past players for fun because he was a free spirit and was our best player. Nowadays he seems too not want to do it, I love the guy but just wish he would do what he is best at. He is our lad and hope he gets it back

I hear you overall but in certain situations SWP could be preferable, for example for his maturity vis a vis Johnson, defending compared to Silva, or pure speed over Milner. When he is at his best SWP brings a package like no other player.
