The injuries have been a problem, and will be resolved soon. We need a striker and I hope Ade and Baliotelli (when healthy) step it up. The Liverpool game gave us a glimpse of what this side can do. This is the first season I have not experienced huge anxiety starting off--they look really good and will settle in.

When Chelsea, or filth fans used to complain about injuries, i always said that it was a lame excuse considering the advantage they had in spending on their squad. The strength of the bench is always an indication of the strength of a team we were told. well I'm afraid after the spending we have done, and the amount of top class players we have, blaming the absence of three guys who haven't totalled a full match between them is not really good enough.

Oh come off it!
A mode d'emploi which requires two good attacking full backs and our first three choices are injured?
You can argue he should change the system maybe but ............

If you wanted a manager to pick one (relatively unknown) foreign player from the German league and make a good buy, he was your man. Otherwise we mostly overpaid because we pursued a very small pool of obvious players.

Because of that success in the transfer market though, there really is nowhere to hide for a manager this season. Last season imo was a building one for the last transfer window where it was expected we change a top 6 team into a top 4 team. We've certainly done that on paper & even with injuries, we've added Milner & Toure to an already excellent squad. There's no point in letting go of Robinho, Ireland & Bellamy then saying we're missing players; you make the bed & lie in it. (We had David Silva on the bench).
Sam Allardyce or Stuart Pearce would be expected to beat Sunderland & Blackburn with those players available & would be getting heavy shit right now for not doing. We have quite a few games against similar teams coming up. Pearce or Sam would be out of a job if they failed against those teams too, no question. It's important for Mancini to get results in this period or he's in danger, faith or not.
