..in a heartbeat.

Reminded me of the good old top 4 battles of yesteryear. Hyped to buggery and ends in stalemate.

Got no choice but to take it but in all honesty that was the most disgraceful derby performance I've seen in my 28 years.

Both sides did Chelsea a big favour tonight. Bob is scared of losing to Utd & Ferguson is scared of losing to City. When you look at the talent available to both sides, the performance of both managers was a fucking disgrace imo. Pathetic, boring, drab, shite excuse for a derby. The pair of them should be ashamed of that but they won't be as they're a pair of big headed cunts.

Pretty much. Scared to lose or determined to not to lose if you want to put a more positive spin on it but both managers knew exactly what they were doing and did it. I also hope that Mancini is as big an arrogant cunt as Taggart. We've needed one for a while now.

That's a bonus then, at least we've finished phase 1 of the project.

What I don't understand is why we're almost always afraid to attack at home & play everything safe up front, yet we play bizarre experimental pseudo attacking sides with 3 up front etc away from home. Surely it should be the other way around?

I'd said this afternoon I'd take a point to avoid the grief and being 6 points behind, so in the cold light of day, yes I'd take it.

The performance however left a lot to be desired and what little credit there was from a diabolical game would have to go to the rags.

This is absolutely (though tragically) spot on.

Its a good point and imho a good performance although a bit toothless. If we finish in 4th spot 1 point ahead of Spuds or whoever than how many will think it was ok to lose to United as long as we tried to boss the game and play attacking football. This point could be a big point come seasons end. Imho, well done City, well done Mancini.

I also don't understand
why we are so safety first at home. but I don't think we are anywhere near attacking enough ever!

I'm with you. Performance was bit of a disappointment but I'd much rather take a point than another fucking 3-4 heartbrake. You get no points for that despite what some people would have you to believe.

Fact is that they won three out of four contests last season and getting a point at this stage is a good result for me. But don't let me ruin your misery people. Main moaners are obviously in full flow.
Sometimes we're good and sometimes we're bad but when we're good, at least we're much better than we used to be and when we are bad we're just as bad as we always used to be, so that's got to be good hasn't it?

I will get over it in a day or two, but come on, it was the derby. You play it to win, for fuck's sake. I'm gonna keep moaning a bit more, since it makes me feel better venting a bit of frustration, and boy did I build up a lot of that last night!

And regarding the underlined part: I thought we set ourselves up perfectly for a 0-1 heart break with an injury time goal from Scholes. That would've been really hard to swallow after last night's performance.

I got back at midnight and thought about a few positives.

I don't like Mancini, I am happy stand by that and the football his teams play is not attractive in any way. That said, after a run of 3 horrible defeats, he got back to tightening up; the result is 2 clean sheets. City will finish 4th or better if that continues. It's all about Champions League, so I guess we will have to accept this. I thought it was a dogturd of a game with neither side ever really threatening or deserving a point. Scholes was exceptional, as bloody usual, but so was De Jong.

Oh, Boateng is a pup. Bad buy. Looked terrified to me, again. What Milner brings to us, beyond termendous effort, is beyond me.

Tonight we sat and allowed them to dictate the flow and pace of the game. We failed to try and win by gaining control of the game.
Therefore I am disappointed.

I agree that we should've gone for the win but Derby is about result first and foremost. It's not fucking ballet.

I was relieved when the final whistle went, that the filth hadn't scored in the last minute. As for this 'attack, attack' nonsense, that would've seen us lose for sure. Maybe some would be happy to throw all caution to the wind and get another glorious defeat?

Scum were really up for it last night, they were all present except Shrek, and played a damn sight better than they have lately. Clearly Tevez was not fit and shouldn't have really been there. Adebayor is not fit and Balotelli is suspended, whilst Jo is Jo.

It's only City that get slated for a 0-0 with Scum.

I can only agree.
Plus it's very difficult to play against a very defensive-minded team that put 9 men behind the ball in their 20 metres every time we had the ball. Red-nose decided that the best way to come away with something against a team lead by an Italian was "catenaccio e contropiede".
Pleased that we are now 4 points clear and hoping that Mario's suspension end soon enough. This teams needs him

The way I look at things is this. ...At the start of every season we effectively have 38 points that we have to safeguard.

Regardless of whether we play attacking football and safeguard that point, or whether we play in an ultra defensive manner in order to secure it, to me is neither here nor there, just as long as we do so.

Last night we safeguarded/secured that point....onto Birmingham where we're looking for all three! COME ON CITY

I know for a fact that you've agreed with me in criticising teams who don't have a go at Utd & pay them too much respect & said how it makes things so much easier for them. How is it ok for us to do that on our own ground? Is that really the most difficult night our £300M squad can give a Utd team missing their best front 3 of Rooney, Giggs & Valencia? If that's truly the best our club can do after all this time then God iknows what will happen if they do spend some money as promised.
