By the time the lad is 28 and settled down he will be a star for which ever team he is player for. But for the next 5 years or so whilst he matures he's just going to piss around, move from club to club and be in the limelight for the wrong reasons.

That would be planet earth. You make mistakes, you ask for forgiveness and try to learn from your mistakes. I just hope he's serious and actually does something to show it too (other than words).
And now, all of a sudden, after 24 hrs of slaughtering on this board, everything is forgotten since he said "pls forgive me, I'm just an unlucky man" to the M(U)EN reporter...? Pls give me a break... He's got his chances.

I'm still annoyed that he was such a daft cunt the other night. I have no idea whether he will learn/turn a corner/come good but I think he is just entertaining and very talented and a bit/lot fucking mental

I don't know what it is either Ant but I'm still firmly with your view. I cling to the hope that he's reached his tipping point, probably wrongly, but I do. Plus that bib video is still cracking me up

Why aren't you acknowledging his 10 goals in 15 starts? Why focus on the bad stuff?
john68 wrote:That may not strictly be true Beeks mate. Though you may well be right, a 0-2 deficit is beatable and has been beaten many times.
What was important on the night was that we gave ourselves the best chance possible of overcoming that deficit. There may have been other factors on the night and we may not have succeeeded but to give ourselves the best chance possible, we needed a full team, with each player reaching his potential and pulling his weight.
What Balotelli did was in a place where City were not under significant pressure. It was unproffessional and stupid and it cannot be excused by postulising that the game may have already have been lost.

john68 wrote:I think with young Balotelli, we should look at the difference between rational and emotional.
When in rational mode, he is undoubtedly a quality footballer and probably quite a nice young lad. Now the red mist has vapourised, i am not suprised that he is full of remorse. Now that his heart rate has settled and he can look at his behaviour in the cold light of day, he understands he has behaved like a twat and possibly it was his actions that cost us the game and our place in the Europa League next round.
The problem he has is his lack of ability to stop the red mist descending, his lack of ability to keep his head when the pressure is on. Sadly for him and possibly his future career, the game at the top is about pressure, stress, tension and how well you can handle it.
There is much talk about him learning lessons but learning is all about rationality. he loses it emotionally and learning plays no part of that. his reactions are not rational they are emotional and thought has no control over them. I have deep worries that it is something in his personality that is hard wired and deep seated.
The fact that even after the game, even after being told by the club and his own team mates, despite his being remorseful and regretful in the dressinfg room and despite having the understanding about the implications of his actions, HE STILL COULDN'T STOP HIMSELF REACTING EMOTIONALLY TO A FEW FANS. HE HAS NO CONTROL OF THAT SIDE OF HIS CHARACTER.
carl_feedthegoat wrote:Like I said..he fucking cost us the match and a possible EUFA cup to boot.
Hes a cunt and he wont change....as has been said..the sill fucker got out of his car to remonstrate with fans.
UNBELIEVABLE.

Having said all that, we can't forget that City is a competetive football club and not a nursing home.
