If the FA agree, they could well rule that there is no case to answer, as players should have been notified of the change of these ground rules.

I rekon they have misjudged this one, he will get a 3 match ban for appealing. The FA would look even more stupid than they normally do in the eyes of the public.. and unlike other football misdemeanours this was all over the normal news.. so in a match between Middle England v Shrek, Middle England win every time. You could even say it isn't in the hands of the FA anymore.
