Grannysh*gger charged...

Here is the place to talk about all things city and football!

that's the point to me - if he'd smiled and said "fucking get in" (a la micah villa fa cup) then a slap on the wrists would be appropriate.

he didn't - he was aggressive and basically tried to start a fight with the whole world, using a cameraman as proxy. i'd honestly assumed when i saw it that the cameraman had said something pretty abusive for him to act that way. apparently not - he was just "celebrating".

@ Arjan,
I think that Gordon Taylor was trying to set the ground rules that industrial language was already accepted when spontaneous and in the heat of the moment. If the FA agree, they could well rule that there is no case to answer, as players should have been notified of the change of these ground rules.

Sometimes football seems to operate in a bubble.

I wonder if a complaint from a member of the viewing (tv audience) public might help them out?

I've watched it a couple of times now, but still can't really make out what he's saying. Tom me it sounds like: Fucking what? What? Fucking Hell!

Hardly anything to be too upset about. I really don't think it warrants a ban.

Utd will be ecstatic that he gets the reduction, the FA dont lose face as they still "tried to give him a longer ban" and he will of course be free to play against us.

Now, where can I get a bet on as sure as hell fire it will transpire like that.

....but who thinks this is in doubt?????

this will have been 'brokered' before the charge was made..

therefore everyone wins - from the FA / Scum point of view - there is much more interaction between them than is let on

perhaps I am a conspiracy theorist - but I will be surprised if I am wrong

so he will be rested for our game - he would not have played against Fulham anyway (so the scum lose - nothing) - and the scum can play the 'victim'card again

Mate - it's very sad that a lot of people cant see it is wrong, whoever it is. Looks like "Fuck off. What?. Fuck off", beamed to 211 countries and umpteen million young kids - showing that football is all about hatred and bile, and he's actually aiming it at everyone out here. Now I think that is very, very wrong. And I also think players - and this cunt is also the main example - should be sent off each time they swear at the referee as well.

One journo at the weekend said that when his boys asked if they'd be playing rugby or football this week and they were told football, they said: "that's good because then we can swear".

Certain people in the game - and Taggart is top of this list too - have gone out of their way to erode standards, and it's about time the FA took a stand.

You cant say it's society - it's just football and it's lax sporting rules.

doesn't reflect well on scum either. I know we have had his supposed 'apology' but shouldn't the scum hierarchy come out and condemn his behaviour?

On his ban, i think I'd rather him in there teamat the moment instead of Hernandez.

Of course he fucking will be.

Nothing happened him over a blatant elbow only a few weeks ago that would have meant a three match ban in a title run in, so they had to be seen to do something this time.

It has already been pre scripted that he would accept a charge and appeal the punishment, meaning he'll miss the nothing game against Fulham (title still on course, thank you very much) and be available for the semi against us (Double still on course, thank you very much).

They have always been biased and probably always will be.

Strongly suspect this is all pre-arranged and he will get to play in the final. So he misses Fulham! Hahaha, what a punishment.

So much for the respect campaign; if it is reduced (which is clearly already decided it will be), i think we should all launch a disrespect campaign. utter bullshit are the fa, a bunch of turds. it is absolutely inconceivable that he misses the semi.

I rekon they have misjudged this one, he will get a 3 match ban for appealing. The FA would look even more stupid than they normally do in the eyes of the public.. and unlike other football misdemeanours this was all over the normal news.. so in a match between Middle England v Shrek, Middle England win every time. You could even say it isn't in the hands of the FA anymore.
