It's all falling apart ................................. thank fuck!

Blatter has now had proceedings opened against him, coming swift on the heel's of the other 4, including Bin Hammam and the slippery Jack Warner.

Surely now they must have an external investigation instead of this in-house, we are our own government type bullshit?

The whole operation is rotten to the core. All turds floating in the same river; anything that sees Blatter come under scrutiny and cause him any concern wiping that smug smile off his face, has to be good.

After snubbing England, USA, Spain and Australia in the last bidding process, and taking any bribes on offer, they made some powerful enemies who will do everything they can to bring Blatter and his cronies down. Lets hope thats what happens though I won't hold my breath.

I'm the same mate but this new investigation brings up a serious question:

How can they carry on with the upcoming vote for Presidential Election if both candidates are under investigation for corruption?

Is the English FA (pre-Bernstein) not also a bit shady though? Triesman's only recently (since the England bid failed) been raising allegations of improper and unethical behaviour during the bidding processagainst various FIFA punters . Why didn't he raise these allegations at the time they occurred (specially if he rejected the advances) raather than wait? and didn't the FA arrange a friendly against Thailand, or somewhere, to try and influence (allegedly) voting and then withdrew the game when it didn't work?

Of course the FA are culpable too. They tried to play by Fifa rules, ie crooked ones, and got nowhere anyway. The time to raise all this was a year ago as keeping schtum got us nowhere anyway.

I'm convinced that the next major issue they'll face is a number of large law suits from the associations whose bids for the 2018 and 2022 tournaments were unsuccessful.

They're no longer in a position to even keep a straight face if pushed on whether the bidding process was fair and there are some very powerful countries whose authorities spent huge sums on money on bids which were doomed to fail before they even got off the ground. They will quite rightly want their tens of millions pounds back.

I will make great news and I'm looking forward to it.

The problem is we can't be seen to be involved in the breakaway as most of the footballing world hates us

Elliot Ness and his men were the 'untouchables' - NOT Al Capone and the like. They were given this name because they couldn't be bought off by gangs - they were 'untouchable' in that they were upstanding and incorruptible.

This has to be one of the biggest misunderstandings in modern history. I reckon I've explained this myself about 15 times over the last five years or so.

Dr. Dre has to be one of the few people on earth to actually get it the right way round. His nifty 'let me welcome everybody to the wild, wild west / the state that's untouchable like Elliot Ness' rhyme in 'California Love' actually made correct use of the term.

Nothing to do with the thread like, but I thought you might benefit from having that cleared up :)

Woh, woh, woh sweet child of mine. I didn't say govern world football, I said a government of their own which is completely different. They answer to no-one and even force the countries that take on the World Cup to exempt them of all Tax Duty to be paid to the government?

How many companies can do whatever they want without fear of being touched by any outside influence, or in this case, any due concern for the people who actually pay for the game?

Same here mate as I can't see the likes of America (strange to think it was Warner who brought him on board) laying back and taking it up the hoop now.

There is nothing Beeks wrote that needed correcting. He has not stated that FIFA are The Untouchables (note the capitals dictating a proper noun) but that they are untouchable because there is nobody but themselves to police them.

Thought I might stick my oar in and clear that up!

thank fuck someone did that.

FIFA is no more or less corrupt than any other governing body would be with so much at stake. Kiers has it right...if everyone knows yr sporting a big huge cock, someone's gonna find a way to put that in their private parts. FACT.

The US and England are just pissed because we couldn't match the corruption-level and win this shit. Sore losers. We should have just changed the game if we were losing. I think we are just a bunch of pussies for losing those bids tbh.
