Errr.....so it WAS about money since he was willing to agree precontract deal with Twente who offered him initially more money but agreed to stay with us when we offered him the same money and better team. That was my point. If it was just about having more games, he would've and should've left to Twente where he had been third striker. Probably even starter. He'll have to wait for his chance with us.

In theory he should be way down our pecking order but currently hes prob third choice behind dzecko and balotelli which tells you everything we need to know about our strikeforce....Come Aug31st il b surprised if hes anywhere near our 1st team if it was about games i agree he should of left for twente.

no it wasn't about money, it was about involvement in the first team. We offered him first team involvement which meant he decided to stay. He had two offers in the summer, one from Twente where he would go straight into their first team squad and one from city where he would be in the EDS looking to get in the first team squad, now he has been offered to be in our first team squad and he has accepted the offer to stay. It's as simple as that, money does not come into it, fans really need to get in their heads that contracts are alot more complicated than just wages.

You are making this stuff up as you go. A)How the hell do you know he has been offered place in first team squad? B) If he really is considered second choice striker, which would be the scenario where he'd play alot, Mancini needs his fucking head examined. But we both know that is not the case. C) Are you really, seriously, claiming that he is going to get as much first team football with us as with Twente?
Sometimes we're good and sometimes we're bad but when we're good, at least we're much better than we used to be and when we are bad we're just as bad as we always used to be, so that's got to be good hasn't it?

I am not making this up at all.

A) Because he and his agent said it was all about first team football, the length and wage of the contract had been agreed it was just the terms, he believes at his age for his ability he should be in a first team squad, city could not offer that to him since January when negotiations started but they have offered them to him now which is why he has signed a new contract and has gone to america as 3rd striker.

B) He is not the second choice striker, he will be 4th striker after Balotelli, Dzeko, Tevez/Replacement.

C) No i have never claimed or suggested that, he is part of the first team squad now which means he will be training with them as opposed to training with the EDS like last year, getting on the bench and playing in some cup games. He has taken Jo's role. At Twente he may have been a starter or 3rd striker and he would have got a hell of alot of games over there than he would here but he obviously see's himself as a to player and that all he needs is a chance and good luck to him.

Not seen a lot of this lad but I noticed plenty of people were disappointed when it looked like he was leaving.

I've watched videos and read reports but not enough to form an opinion. Can anyone who has seen a bit of him outline what he offers and what we can expect if he does play a part in the squad next season?

Good news that he's staying, we are short on back up for this position and he has impressed at the levels he's played so far. I was really disappointed that we didn't give him some playing time last season when Jo kept getting on the bench. Definitely has an eye for goal but it remains to be seen if he can do it in the Prem

He wont be taking anyone's spot since he's 19 and wont count towards the 25 person limit.

What I mean is, if he actually makes it into the first team, ie spends time on the field. Again, if that happens, we are in trouble.

Yeah how awful would it be were an academy graduate break into our first team. Couldn't think of anything worse than a youngster progressing rapidly.

I think most City fans will be happy to hear we have managed to keep him here, i think he's a very promising young player.

I don't get it either. Does Goaters 103 know something we don't? If Mancini thinks the kid is good enough to be the 4th bloody choice upfront, I'm all for it. Jeez.

Whether Mancini thinks he is a real prospect or not we will find out this season. It's just possible he took him on tour just to have another closer look or maybe just to fill a spot and play some minutes so that others are not expected to do too much work.Let's face it a couple of others have been left behind as definitely not considered part of the forthcoming season.

Personally I think it's great news that Bobby is considering him as the fourth striker..he has to be a better option than Jo and who knows..he might just step up to the plate

He may step up to the plate, but then he may not. I know it's only a friendly etc etc but the opposition was shite, and he really disappointed me.

All well and good youngsters coming through if they have the ability, but this slavish 'he's from our academy he's a young player (or old in Ned's case) give him a chance' makes me cringe.

We are not in the position to take chances. I still believe it's obvious by 16 or 17 in the majority of cases who will be a top player. Possibly Denis Suarez fits into this category.

At best the guy will be fourth choice striker. That means, if he's lucky, he will trot on for the odd sub appearance when we are 3 goals up or 3 goals down, and maybe get a start in the Carling Cup if we are not taking it seriously like last year.

Come Premier League games, Champs League etc, if we are starting or relying on John Guidetti next season we are fuct. Academy graduate he may be, and good luck to the guy but we need players currently about 3 notches better on than him on the talent rung if we are serious about contending for silverware and continuing to dine at football's top table.

Yes he's likely better than Jo, but thats like saying its better to have the shits than be puking up. Neither of the aforementioned would be a regular in meaningful games for a top Premier or European side.
