Errr.....so it WAS about money since he was willing to agree precontract deal with Twente who offered him initially more money but agreed to stay with us when we offered him the same money and better team. That was my point. If it was just about having more games, he would've and should've left to Twente where he had been third striker. Probably even starter. He'll have to wait for his chance with us.
no it wasn't about money, it was about involvement in the first team. We offered him first team involvement which meant he decided to stay. He had two offers in the summer, one from Twente where he would go straight into their first team squad and one from city where he would be in the EDS looking to get in the first team squad, now he has been offered to be in our first team squad and he has accepted the offer to stay. It's as simple as that, money does not come into it, fans really need to get in their heads that contracts are alot more complicated than just wages.
You are making this stuff up as you go. A)How the hell do you know he has been offered place in first team squad? B) If he really is considered second choice striker, which would be the scenario where he'd play alot, Mancini needs his fucking head examined. But we both know that is not the case. C) Are you really, seriously, claiming that he is going to get as much first team football with us as with Twente?
I am not making this up at all.
A) Because he and his agent said it was all about first team football, the length and wage of the contract had been agreed it was just the terms, he believes at his age for his ability he should be in a first team squad, city could not offer that to him since January when negotiations started but they have offered them to him now which is why he has signed a new contract and has gone to america as 3rd striker.
B) He is not the second choice striker, he will be 4th striker after Balotelli, Dzeko, Tevez/Replacement.
C) No i have never claimed or suggested that, he is part of the first team squad now which means he will be training with them as opposed to training with the EDS like last year, getting on the bench and playing in some cup games. He has taken Jo's role. At Twente he may have been a starter or 3rd striker and he would have got a hell of alot of games over there than he would here but he obviously see's himself as a to player and that all he needs is a chance and good luck to him.
