Granted he hasnt been a world beater, but should we now be leaving him with the kids in a spiteful attempt to force him to take a pay cut and fuck off? We all like to moan about player loyalty when they try and leave (Tevez for example), but when we decide we don't want them anymore expect them to just fuck off and sacrifice a shed load of money they were promised?
Where is our side of the loyalty? Or even just decent human courtesy?
This is my point exactly.
All of these players were asked to come to our club, rightly or wrongly. All of them wanted to play in our first team. That has become very unlikely, so fair enough, they go. Our next move rather than just treating them with courtesy, which would cost us nothing, has been to treat them like lepers. It would do City no harm, to have buttered these blokes up & made them feel as if we're regretful about selling them rather than generally ignoring them & imo, treating them like shit. It would mean they were more cooperative to the process too imo.
In the case of Ade & Bellamy, it has created bad blood in public, I suspect that in the case of Bridge & others, including Ned, it has created bad blood in private. These are the people who will help the press stick the knife in, give them gossip from former team mates etc, in the future & generally try to spread shit about us. It may be unavoidable in some cases but we could at least try to keep people sweet.
If people think creating enemies is good for the club, they are totally fucking thick as pig shit.
