A bit of encouragement & he would have been a highly saleable asset. Instead, we managed to play Jo & sell him instead. Rubbish by Bob, Marwood & anyone else concerned.
If we weren't rich & had been arrogantly complacent about him & several other players, he'd be going for big money.
He was loaned to Real Madrid for him to showcase his ability and get big clubs interested. He was shite there and we are stuck with player who is on horrible wages we need to get rid.
I watch a lot of Spanish football and he definitely wasn't shite at Real Madrid. His value has plummeted partly due to his not reputation for being a whiney, disruptive cunt (which isn't entirely untrue) and through us making his look useless by not involving him. A bit of both.
I saw him fair few times and thought he was pretty poor mostly.
The big problem with Adebayor is that he is ultimate hot and cold player. When he is hot, he is almost unplayable. When he is cold, it's like playing with 10 men. Teams aiming for titles can't afford to have players like that. It's no coincedence that Arsenal won fuck all during his stay there.
I recon Arsenal were & would be again a much better team with Adebayor up front.
So do I. During his time there he was far from the weakest link. They've only had striker problems since he left. From 2006-2009 their main problems were centre-half, centre mid and goalkeeper. Now they're pretty shit all over the park. I do rate Sczezny and Vermaelen though.
