Fair play to him for not just packing it in and heading off into the sun with the millions he earned sitting on the sidelines. Must've been a frustrating few years for him and I think he has a point to prove to himself as well as everyone else.

He seems to be working hard and hopefully someone gives him a go. He was a super player at Bayern and was great in a CL final.

yknow...available on a free...why wouldn't a lot of PL clubs take a punt on this guy? i can't imagine that half of the league wouldn't be better with him if he is actually fit.

surely his physical issues over the last few seasons would put off the top clubs, but you'd figure the Newcastles, Sunderlands, Evertons and Villas of the world should have him in for a workout and see if he can do a job. i would have him in to have a peek at him if i were running those clubs. we've got better and don't need the risk, but at the risk of sounding arrogant, most don't tbh.

That is the truth isn't it. People never saw him regularily when he played for Bayern so he got this reputation of being world class. Since he never really played, that myth just kept going and going. Exactly like Jonno. People forgot his weaknesses and remember couple of really good displays.

All he has to do is fill in for a few games when Yaya goes away to the ACN. I think if he is actually fit, he'll play regularly. When he played for the rags v us, he was fucking tremendous. I'm so glad he didn't get back in their team.

Half way through they were having to eat shit as he turned on an incredible performance for the whole 120 minutes; man of the match. England have really missed him.

Of course a lot has happened to Hargreaves since then but we're not risking much. No transfer fee, probably pay to play. If it doesn't work out no significant damage done. If it does we've got a real bargain and boy will he be motivated to prove the rags wrong.
