Zero, I think.

+1
A trophy is a happy bonus for me if we play out the season with football like that. The potential problem, as I see it, is that if we don't score from the chances we create, we are open for a single mistake or bit of bad luck to cost us points, as the space is there for the oppo to get at us. I don't mind that, & we have such quality now that it's unlikely to happen too often that we miss loads. When it does happen however, I hope the fans & board stick with the programme rather than going into meltdown like they did when Hughes tried to attack, with an inferior team. This is the kind of football we want to be playing. If we have setbacks achieving it, so be it, the longterm result is worth it. If we want to be the top club worldwide, we have to entertain, not just win.

When you actually see us play better or when you see enough to think we could overtake them in the not too distant future?
When i see enough to think that we're better than Barca.Original Dub wrote:I guess they just don't have the squad to rest three such big name players and win convincingly.
Bet you feel a little bit silly now...
Nope, I don't. Villa played a stupid stupid back pass but still. Look at their defense today..the only starter was Alves.
Busquets is a converted holding midfielder and Fontas and Adriano arent Pique/Puyol and Abidal.
Regardless, Barca is still better.

Tbf it was pretty warm out there & it's early season & we're playing Champion's Lg on Weds. I don't think we could have done much more.

I could've sworn that that was the point that i highlighted in my post above...so clearly it didnt go over my head.Original Dub wrote:You really should have more faith because we are one of the best teams on the planet.
When we prove it, I'll agree. Sorry, that's just the way I am. Thumping Swansea (who have yet to score in the prem), terrible Wigan, Bolton (who got rocked by ManU today), and a poor, poor Spurs team doesnt prove to me that we are
currently one of the "best teams on the planet". I'm holding back my judgment until I see results.
Sorry if I'm not eager to jump at every single chance to immediately shower the gods' praise on City after a match that we should've won today by more than 3-0. Much like people on here have said that they would hold back judgment on Aguero after the Swans match to see how he looked against other teams etc. or how others on here have claimed patience over Tevez in the wake of his performance today, I'm waiting.ant london wrote:Phips mate....I have no idea what your history re City is but you come across as a "football fan who has chosen to follow City". Well yeah, I'm not English and live in the U.S. so I'm not gifted with the opportunity to be birthed as a City fan. And just 'cause youve been following City longer doesn't diminish my zeal for and support of City.ant london wrote:then, my friend they/we/I will call you a cunt.

Go for it.

I think the same goes for Utd as well, they are over reliant o Rooney. We don't seem to be reliant on one particular player, sign of a good squad.
I thought we were over reliant on NDJ and Tevez last year, this season has dispelled that myth.
