Did anyone notice how many Yellow Cards were given out today?

I thought that aswell. Amazing to think that in our first 4 games only Phil Dowd believed there was a need for cards. Is he trying to stop our Fair Play chances?

+1

A trophy is a happy bonus for me if we play out the season with football like that. The potential problem, as I see it, is that if we don't score from the chances we create, we are open for a single mistake or bit of bad luck to cost us points, as the space is there for the oppo to get at us. I don't mind that, & we have such quality now that it's unlikely to happen too often that we miss loads. When it does happen however, I hope the fans & board stick with the programme rather than going into meltdown like they did when Hughes tried to attack, with an inferior team. This is the kind of football we want to be playing. If we have setbacks achieving it, so be it, the longterm result is worth it. If we want to be the top club worldwide, we have to entertain, not just win.

Why oh why and where oh where, do You see even half a clue of the Board not standing by the man they choosed - instead of inherited - who is making their plans come true, attracting top players with top attititude, work ethic and commitment, and is doing that having spent less money for infinite more value???
As I said and stated several times, I respect Your brain and fairness too much for not meaning such question as a purely rethoric one, just deemed to a joke...

Anyone else noticed the constant scoreline comparisons coming from those cunts down the road?

I'd like to think we wouldnt do the same. Its a sorry state of affairs when their tiny peanut brains think its a- clever and b- feesable to compare the two sides through results of two completely different games.

They're shook, and im loving it.

Bet you feel a little bit silly now...

Nope, I don't. Villa played a stupid stupid back pass but still. Look at their defense today..the only starter was Alves.
Busquets is a converted holding midfielder and Fontas and Adriano arent Pique/Puyol and Abidal.
Regardless, Barca is still better.

phips, barca may be better technically, that i would say id pretty obvious. However they are boring.. if you watch them week in week out they play in very similar patterns and in a very methodical way. By contrast City are already playing much more diverse football. There are reasons for this, as La Liga allows for that to develop, whereas the prem makes it more difficult and as a result more interesting. barca have been pretty dull to watch (if you are used to that kind of thing) since Rikjaard left. Barca look creative but in fact they go through the motions and have very few real wildcards in their pack. H. Laarson, Ronnie and Eto were the last of them to play for barca and they have been poorer for it. Sort of a latin Chelsea if you get the drift.

I doubt we would beat barca at the moment.. see what we look like at the end of the season. Next season i would like to think we would give them a really interesting game and cause them real problems.

anyway pie in the sky.. who's next Napoli?

When we prove it, I'll agree. Sorry, that's just the way I am. Thumping Swansea (who have yet to score in the prem), terrible Wigan, Bolton (who got rocked by ManU today), and a poor, poor Spurs team doesnt prove to me that we are
currently one of the "best teams on the planet". I'm holding back my judgment until I see results.

Sorry if I'm not eager to jump at every single chance to immediately shower the gods' praise on City after a match that we should've won today by more than 3-0. Much like people on here have said that they would hold back judgment on Aguero after the Swans match to see how he looked against other teams etc. or how others on here have claimed patience over Tevez in the wake of his performance today, I'm waiting.

Have to agree with sentiments that we should not take our foot of the gas. Goal Difference can act as an extra point and we should be absolutely ruthless, always looking for more goals.

Tbf it was pretty warm out there & it's early season & we're playing Champion's Lg on Weds. I don't think we could have done much more.

Just watched MotD and still don't get why they come out with comments like '...all these multi-million pound players...', do they do this for the Rags, Chelsea et al? The answer is obviously no so why carry it on with us.

Enjoy the football and comment on what's going on rather than sticking some slant on, then you may find you can actually see beyond the ironic comments that you usually spout.

MY point is in the last 20 we did take the foot of the gas when we had the players to really get at them and push for more. However on another day the penalty goes in, as does Micah and Kompany's efforts which hit the bar as well as Lescott's miss.

"That's just the way I am"

If you need to wait until we are actually better than Barca before you say it then fine Mr Safety First, but don't try to patronise me for making a prediction and then base your argument on the fact that it hasn't happened yet?!!

The example you gave as to why we are so far from Barcelona was that they were two up in such a short space of time and they had three big name players on the bench. Well we ended up winning 3 nil and they ended up drawing with all three players on the pitch so that was a fucking ridiculous example.... in fact, you could say your example was a bit premature... which is unusual considering how you only base your opinion on what has already happened, eh?!!

Anyway, all that aside - I have noticed quite a lot of your posts seem to be to calm everyone down when there is blatant cause to get excited and you always seem to big those cunts united up.

Are you still unsure as to who you support or are you a rag trying to pretend you're a super city fan?

Something's a bit strange about the whole thing...

Well Barca drew 2-2 after being 2-0 up yesterday, resting a lot of stars. They basically don't have the squad depth that we do.

I think the same goes for Utd as well, they are over reliant o Rooney. We don't seem to be reliant on one particular player, sign of a good squad.

I thought we were over reliant on NDJ and Tevez last year, this season has dispelled that myth.

Exactly.

There is no reason not to think we can become better than Barca are right now, in the not too distant future. In fact, comparisons have already been drawn in quite a few quarters from people who are directly involved in the game at the highest level. I see Martinez is the latest to say pretty much what I said... and what the majority of City fans think I believe.

To quote Roberto Martinez after watching us DESTROY them yesterday

"The sky is the limit".

ha ha.. football predictions eh! mugs game.

As we seem to have veered off topic, might as well add that while Barca's strength is in their system and the indoctrination of that system in players from an early age (which is partly the key to it). That is also their weakness and their potential undoing. They will always be formidably difficult to play, but imo only to a certain level. As i have been banging on for a couple of years they are too well drilled, robotic and they are used to that working. They don't have a plan B.

A team that is equally good at ball winning, able to keep the ball in tight areas but also have real variety in their play and players prepared to make it up as they go along (eg. Aguero) would in time be better than the so called mighty Barca.

To even suggest we are as good as or better than Barca is pure madness. Just look at the way they played the CL final. I have never seen a side completely dominate United and make them look like as shite and timid as Barca did. We've got the foundations of a great side, but one step at a time.

I read a good point, without doubt we have the players to win the league, but do we have the mental ability? We'll see a lot more when we play at Old Trafford in October. That game will tell us if we can win the league or not.
