Morning boys!

Been a long time....but I thought this the best thread to make a re-introduction.

I honestly think you guys stand a better chance than Man Utd to win the league. Why? Simple reason, depth of squad. A patient owner in Mubarak/Sheikh Mansour. A real feel-good factor amongst the group of players you have at the Etihad this season.

What will be important is how you guys deal with defeat this season. Regardless of how much has been spent, you can't expect to go unbeaten in ALL the cups AND the league this season. It's seemingly impossible. This is the reason I hate the cuh-hunts from Salford even more- they seem to bounce back after defeat with aplomb.

I do think that, as far as ManUre go, there is a fear factor ahead of the game when teams go against them (and I include Arsenal in that estimation, although I think that was more-so down to a blinkered, stubborn, "we'll do it our way" approach by Wenger as opposed to seeking out the strengths and weaknesses of the opponents ahead of the game). As long as teams go up against them with a very positive approach, they'll do well to cause an upset against the Rags.

Good times at Eastlands, though. It's been a long time coming. :)

Doesn't bother me in the slightest what they do, if at the end of the season the league is decided between us and them on goal diff then what a season that will have been. A lot of what they do is down to the opposition thinking they're beaten even before they cross the white line, we're not quite there yet with every team so if we go 2 goals up against Bolton they will still think they can come back to beat us but against the rags you see they'd already given up.

Yesterday was slightly disappointing in that even at the pedestrian pace we played we should have won by 6, if we had the ruthlessness that comes from being at the top for twenty years and played with the intensity we should then it could easily have been more like 10! I do think that there may also have been the impending Napoli game looming large in their minds making them take it a bit easier too, let's hope that after another year operating at this level that we have the experience and confidence required to take every game at full tilt.

The key to City's challenge is what happens if we go a goal or two down. If we can come back & win some games under those circumstances, we will be thereabouts at the end. If we can't, we won't.

At the moment, whatever the score in rag's games, we are playing better football than them. That's all I care about.

The commentators have been saying this after the last two games however they seem to forget that they scored 3 against Spuds whereas we scored 5. They've now scored 5 againast Bolton whereas we scored 3 so touche. As we haven't played Arsenals 3rd team we can't compare. The way both teams are playing we'll score more against some teams and they'll score more against others but after yesterday i'm confident that somebody will be on the end of an 8 goal pasting at some point this season. We're not gonna blow easy chances all season, our team is too good.
Balotelli......that's a brilliant finish.

Cheers Wrighty and always nice to get an "outsiders" view on all things Blue!

Question for you, do you think Wenger will be able to gel the new recruits quickly enough to give you a chance of getting something from the season? We've had our fun of gelling threads along the lines of "will we?, won't we?" I think Mertsacker was a great buy whereas the rest had an air of desperation....what's your thoughts?

Anyone else noticed the constant scoreline comparisons coming from those cunts down the road?

I'd like to think we wouldnt do the same. Its a sorry state of affairs when their tiny peanut brains think its a- clever and b- feesable to compare the two sides through results of two completely different games.

They're shook, and im loving it.

CTID :)

Ex-fucking-actly.

100% record, both teams, lets not forget THEY are also having a fucking great start to a season even by their standards. The fact that we have matched it shows we are as good as we think we are.

Its going to all be about keeping our heads. Lets not forget Bobby has won leagues, he knows what it takes and wont fall for Fergies mind games like Keegan and Wenger did.

A question lads please... (I've tried to google it!)

When was the last time City won their opening four games in the top flight (and incidentally when was the last time scum did it?)

Many thanks

We did it the season before last under Hughes.

Can't be arsed finding out when the rags did it, guessing it wasn't long ago though.

I dont think it looks good, i think it looks crap tbh. Today though i think they had had enough mentally.. first half was mental and they did enough to win about 3 games. Bear in mind also just coming back from internationals always has a bit of an effect. early days yet.

cant complain too much with 30 attempts on goal, clean sheet and virtually every player in the team getting in on the act. Poor Joe eh he must've felt a bit lonely back there.

It doesn't matter how much of a "Nobby Nomates" he feels, as long as he can maintain his concentration like Big Joe Corrigan did and react to a sudden counter-attack.That lets the team attack with impunity knowing he's got their backs.
If you can keep your head when all around you are losing theirs, it's just possible that you haven't really grasped the gravity of the situation.

Y'all right, Dronny?

I don't think we'll get much from this season. However, it will cut the wheat from the chaff (is that the saying?) as far as supporters are concerned. We'll be left with the real core nucleus of fans who have always been there, which can't be a bad thing.

The way things'll pan out- we'll just about get through in our Champions League group and we'll even manage to get past the 2nd round, at which point we'll get spanked by an English team (not the annual pasting from the Cuntalans this season, methinks) We'll scrape 4th (highly ambitious, but I think we'll do it). In the Cup competitions, we'll go out to a mid-table EPL side away from home (the Sunderlands or Stokes of this world)

Embarrassing results a-plenty along the way, though :(

Funnily enough, the last time Arsenal won the first two games of the season, we won our last trophy and finished 2nd. It's astonishing to believe that a team managed by Wenger haven't won the first two EPL games of the season since 2004.

This season's start is almost a mirror-image to the last. Chelsea, the defending champions, blasting away any team in front of them until they met youse at Eastlands. Manchester United were doing the same as Chelsea, i.e. battling wins yet getting the plaudits for "winning while playing badly" (funny how no other team gets such a compliment and instead placed at the mercy of Alan Hansen's microscope)

Lesson to take from this is, don't rule out Chelsea. I'm effectively a neutral in all this now (well, anyone except ManUSA so not really on the fence) so it'll be interesting to see how it pans out.

It was very very weird listening to motd, Hansen waxing lyrical about us.. However when asked why City were now attacking whereas last season they were 'defensive' the pundits didn't have a clue. It really showed a lot of their thinking and that they evidently don't watch the full games or follow progress of teams. They were totally clueless or pretending to be, and couldn't put two and two together that last season was about building the solidity and the system.. that Mancini can now attach the add-ons and goodies to.

Later in the season they will clock this and the penny will drop that there was a masterplan. It will eventually come along after that (maybe next season) that one of the knobs will ask if Mancini should be asked to manage England at some point.

You heard it here first.

Most of them can't even tell what system teams are playing or how it changes during a game. Andy Gray gets a lot of stick but he can usually figure out stuff like that, as can ratpig who has replaced him tbf.
