I'd hardly say I've been proved wrong. I'm not saying he can't be a quality player. I'm saying he hasn't shown enough of it so far. I thought he was ok against Swansea had a good game vs Bolton and was brilliant vs Spurs. But he's been poor since and was poor last season aswell. I'd love him to prove me wrong and make me eat my words but some people seem to be intent on defending him to the death and refusing to criticize him.

He needs to step it up a level. Against Bayern you simply can't miss a chance like the one he had. It's all good and well scoring a fabulous 4th goal but when a chance comes your way in a big game you have to take it.

I've always criticized his first touch and quite rightly. More often than not his lack of close control is infuriating, the ball simply bounces back off him. To me he's a striker who's brilliant if you get crosses into the box like we did against Spurs, but if we're gonna play a neat, delicate passing game with no wide men then Balotelli is far more suited.

Yes he is fantastic IF you play the ball in the air from wide areas. But if we're not gonna play with wingers then what's the point of him playing? I admit I am probably over harsh but he just isn't suited for a delicate passing game. He's not deft enough on the ball, his control isn't quite there yet.
