New striker in jan

Does anyone else think Klaas-Jan Huntelaar would still be worth a punt?

I'd rather we bought his team mate. Never been impressed with Huntelaar.

I think a lot of this depends on what Bobby wants to do and whether he is willing to take a punt on someone, short term. All of our recent buys have been established top players or youngters. I'm not sure Bobby is the type to take a punt on someone at the wrong end of his career or a player below that top level but perhaps it's necessary if we want four (content) forwards in our squad.

Huntelaar has been a ruthless goalscorer everywhere, including for his national team. He never really got much of a run at Madrid or Milan, but he's been back among the goals at Schalke. He's still only 28, would probably only cost about 8M, and would see the move as another chance at the big time. I'd have him in a flash.

Come on guys we need to think about this, its no good having another big name foreign player use to being the big cheese at his current club.

We need a young, raw talented player who understands he is mint, but will be used as a sub until he either gets better than 2 of our other 3 main strikers, or will just be used when we need him.

A young striker or a veteran would fit the bill. If we are in either European competition we have easily enough games to play all the strikers.

Have you SEEN his reported wages? I am glad Mancini didn't do anything with Eto'o. I'm not a fan of him anyway, so I am glad we didn't go for him.

Two penalties, though, and none from open play. He played 90 minutes yesterday as well when Feyernoord lost 0-3 at home to the Hague. I.e. 2/3 now.

If Guidetti is the answer, then what the hells the effin question. Someone pacey is a good shout, who at least scores a goal or two as we dont want one of those Gareth Taylor type interviews when the guy signs, ie "Im not really a goalscorer, my strengths lie elsewhere etc etc."
