He was an impressive player but seems to be as much of a twat as Tevez. Give him big money & his head will get bigger & bigger he'll shit on us just the same.

I thought I'd made it pretty clear that I was comparing them at pre 1st team level & making the point that Evans deserved his chance at the time, due to playing better than Sturridge in the lower teams only to be found out at 1st team level.
I don't think Sturridege, Wellbeck, Cleverley or any of the other raglets currently on loan, most of the England U21 squad & most other so called 'England players of the future' currently getting the hype, are anything more tham mid table PL to mid table Championship standard & I believe that's where they will end up.
As a marker to judge them, compared to top quality, look at Sturridge for instance at 22 & compare him to Shearer at that age or Owen at 19 or Fowler at 18 or any of the other top strikers of the past. Compare Cleverley to Gazza or Gerrard or Scholes or even SWP or fucking Mcmanaman.
They are not even on the same planet. There is a lack of English talent in that age group, so slightly above average English players are getting the bullshit treatment. Sturridge will be gone, if & when Roman gets his cheque book out again. He's a stop gap who is doing ok in a good side but he's only in the team because others aren't performing. He's got Wolves or Sunderland written all over him.

The age thing is highly flawed...Michael Owen started early and pretty much faded out by his mid-twenties! Zidane and Drogba got nowhere near their peak until their mid to late twenties at the other end of the scale.
All the players you mentioned are still young. They may not become great, but they have potential. It's obvious.

Exactly. They have potential. Sturridge at 22 has potential...to be... centre forward for Sunderland, when he gets a bit older. Then, as he gets a bit disillusioned & loses a bit of pace, off he goes to Boro possibly linking up with a fat, greying Joey Barton.

That's where we disagree. If he has the potential to be a centre forward for Sunderland how come he's starting now for Chelsea and scoring goals and how come AVB refused to loan him out again saying he'd be a big player for Chelsea?
It could go either way, yes, but i'm not so pig-eyed to refuse to believe that if he wants it enough he could quite clearly go to the top. He has everything in place. There are very few weaknesses to his game and he's getting better every week.

Cerci looks like the best option, although he is a winger, but i would rather buy an asian fella, that would boost up our marketing income.

For marketing reasons I'd agree but if you see one good enough, give us a shout, mate. I can't find one. As far as Japan is concerned, Kagawa isn't quite there yet imo. Hasebe might work though. Not seen much of South Korea and China have really gone off the rails (match fixing has affected them enormously). Western Asia I know very little about. A lot of the countries in Asia are outside the world top 70 so even if we discovered a world class player, he wouldn't get a visa.
