Build up to the Derby

Here is the place to talk about all things city and football!

A win or loss is worth so much more than 3 points. We've lost too many games against them recently, bar the FA Cup. We need payback. A win at OT would just be amazing, not just the fact we will open up a five point gap but it will go someway to knocking them off their perch.

That said, to go 5 points clear of them would be amazing capital, and great fodder for them to furhter expound on how money has ruined football, which is probably a true statement given the fact all their money is what has made them the most successful team since the premier league was created. You Brits really do have a great grasp on irony.

Tradition Dameerto, nothing more nothing less. In 1903 it was truly the World Series, would be silly to change it to something like North America Series.

Ah tradition, like the one we have of playing FOOTBALL, I see.

Dude, just own it, SOCCER is YOUR term as well. We just chose not to use FOOTBALL. ;)

even though we have Villareal tomorrow, been dreaming of beating the scum since saturday night. Was confronted by 5 drunken scum fans while my 11 yr old nephew and I were travelling home on the train to S Wales after watching teh Villa game.

The abuse they directed at me AND my 11 year old nephew was disgusting - trying to bait me into retaliating. I love a bit of banter between fans, but for drunken scum in their late 40's and 50's to call an 11 yr old a cnut just because he wore a City shirt is way below the belt. They were the sort of scum that you makes them teh despicable collection of lowlife that they are.

Bring on Sunday - I really think that we are going to turn them over big time.

Yeah that game was strangely similar to the Community shield. Played shite first half but somehow ended up 2-0 up. Still felt uneasy at ht. The 93 game was probably why.
Balotelli......that's a brilliant finish.

Five points clear after the weekend or not (and I think City will be) the bigger threat I see is from Chelsea. Sturridge is playing like we knew he could and they have a manager who will get better as he grows into the job, going to be one of the best in Europe.

Was actually thinking the same...I think Chelsea are better than the scum right now..they were even better than the scum when they were miraculously beaten.

I'd better write to the FA then, and tell them they got it wrong in 1863. 'The Soccer Association' could take some getting used to though.

I have no objection to Americans using the word football ........ I simply don't understand it. Why would you call a game football when only two players from each team actually ever kick the ball? and relatively rarely too?

I did know that when it's applied to Rugby Union/League. Didn't realise it had been made to apply to Gridiron though - fair enough I s'pose.

Nani scares me a bit, the cunt. If we can keep him quiet I think we should be comfortable.

Barry should play. Mans been class.

He was kept this evening by the "big", "great" Gabriel Giurgiu from Otelul. He kept him quiet with an elbow in the first minutes of the game.

Barry upfront would be a big mistake ;-)

Richards Kompany Lescott Clichy
Barry de Jong
Aguero Milner Silva
Dzeko

Balotelli to come on after an hour if dzeko is struggling. Cannot see Bobby risking Balo from the off in a match like this to be honest.
