i think dzeko is the modern day goater, not blessed with skill, but always in the right place at the right time, look at villereal played shite yet could of had 2 goals, the og he would have put away & if aguaro had missed THAT goal dzeko was there to put away, the guy is almost lineker like, not in stature but can sniff a goal out

I think Dzeko has absolutely fantastic skill.

The Goat's trick was knowing his limitations & having balls of steel : he just concentrated on putting the ball into an area where the goalkeeper wasn't but had learned not to worry about it if he missed.

Really happy with Edin hes a goal machine a proper poacher, every top team needs a player like that.

Hes just a better version of your typical poacher he has the abilty to score fantastic goals at times.Hes also not a striker always looking out for himself he will look to find a player in a better position.I really like that about him hes a team player.

He's the perfect contrast to Balotelli; SuperMario has got superb technical ability, and is always trying to score the aesthetically pleasing goals; Dzeko doesn't care if he bangs itr in off his knee, or even if he 'does a Vassell' - i.e. scoring a goal almost by accident

I know you are bullshit wum and everything you've ever written on this site has been horrible but that was actually unintentionally funny. Bendtner....well done.
Sometimes we're good and sometimes we're bad but when we're good, at least we're much better than we used to be and when we are bad we're just as bad as we always used to be, so that's got to be good hasn't it?

I think my feelings towards Edin were summed up as the ball bounced to him off Aguero - I found myself shutting "Do NOT miss this". Anyone can miss - Aguero missed one yesterday that he put round the post, but I just don't trust Deko to score anymore. Strange for the league's top scorer, but if there's a one on one with the keeper, I'd choose Aguero or Mario over him. I'd probably also choose Yaya, AJ, Silva, Nasri etc, which is perhaps proof of our attacking ability, but I'm still concerned that Edin will cost us when it matters.

i know what you mean about Dzeko but he is a goal machine. Not the player you would put your life on to finish a 1v1 but by the end of the season he will have scored a bucketful; some world class, some scuffed. He will also miss quite a few sitters, probably more than Mario & Aguero, but he will also pull some incredible match winners out of the bag. imo, so long as he plays his part for the team, & grafts he's a great player. When he starts to stroll, he's useless. It's about attitude.

I thought his finish yesterday was sublime. It was a very missable or saveable chance had he got it slightly wrong. It was a perfect finish.

Sublime? Come on, it was an open net. Was a tidy finish but I'd expect any proffesional to score that.

He had time to think about it, which for many strikers is something they don't really want. I think he did well.

Exactly.

Some would say penalties are harder to score than goals from open play.

Not me though.

I think it depends who you are and what your character is like. Again, time to think disturbs some players and with penalties you do get time to think. An example. In all England's penalty shoot-outs you never once saw paul ince step forward to take one. Funny that. Self-styled hardman with bollocks like petits pois. What a wanker.

Dzeko seemed a bit weak in that department last season but he put that SIXTH goal away against the filth very nicely, thank you. And yesterday's. All good positive stuff.

Well that's true. High pressure penalties take balls.

However, the big difference between your average penalty situation and scoring from open play is the art of perfect positioning, which is the biggest factor for all poachers and is already laid out for you in a penalty.

I'd say there's good chance I could score against a top keeper from a penalty. I'd say there's little or no chance I'd score from open play in a premier league match!

Yeah, I'd agree with just about all of that.

That must be a first. ;-)

Imo & in my experience, the best 1v1 finishers hit the ball low, right along the floor when possible but if not, dipping or as low as possible. Aguero is a prime example. Dzeko tends to hit a lot of them higher & it's easier to get that wrong; miskick, blast over the bar or for the keeper to get a hand to it. It would be interesting to see how many of his worst misses are hit high.

The finish v Wolves though, the ball was bouncing already & needed to be directed away from the keeper without miskicking or missing the target, all in a high pressure situation. Not easy at all but he made it look so.
