Just voted 'no'.
It's gutting when the keeper makes a save and the penalty taker scores the rebound.

At the time, I wished the rules to be different, or the penalty taker shouldn't be allowed to touch it etc.

One thing I did notice at the time, we were slow to react. I know I'm not a professional, but every time I play, and a penalty is being taken. I take the same number of steps back from the line what the kicker takes from the ball.
I run with the kicker so the second they strike the ball, I'm on the line, with the momentum to run in the area.

Kickers usually stop and watch the ball after the strike it, which means they have to start running again for a rebound. Already being at full pelt, if you're lucky enough to be on the correct side as well, will negate that 6 yard advantage.

For us Lescott was first to react, but still reacted after Shrek did.

Penalties always favour the kicker. IF the keeper saves the penalty, and that's not likely, they need to push it to the sides, or around the post, and still recover before the kicker gets to the ball.

I agree and that is the point. They have been fouled after all. It should be a big advantage to the team receiving it.

If it hits the post, the kicker can't touch the ball until another player has. It is the same as any other set piece. Which is as it should be.

So no, Dazzer, I disagree. Unless you are saying that a goalie is the same as a post.

I never knew that, but come to think of it, it makes sense!

Didn't know that. Anyway, I don't agree with Dazby's idea, if the keeper saves a penalty then the ball is back into play like in any other situation where he makes a save and the ball remains inside the pitch.

If the keeper saves it and it rebounds out the attacking player should be allowed to score with their head but overhead kicks and shoulders count double.

Please don't let Sepp Blatter see this.

How about extra time multi ball? Instead of 90 mins in two halves, why not play 4 quarters of 22.5 mins and nearest the goal as keeper?
