Ledley King's Challenge On Mario (the penalty)

There was a clear 'scissor' action - I look forward to hearing what the FA have to say about it.

I thought we'd moved on from this shit. We got the pen that the challenge warranted. Let's be happy, great win against the second best team in the league.

Pardon me for wanting the same rules to be applied to everybody.

A level playing field would be nice, that's all I'm saying.

It would also me nice if the media would focus as much on this challenge as they are doing on Mario's 'stamp'.

We never move on. If an injustice has been done then it is only right that the laws of the game are enforced for everyone. If it was a serious challenge then he should've walked whether he's part of the media's lovies or not.

I'm sure you won't be saying the same about Mario, eh?

It was worse than the Kompany challenge not as bad as the Johnson challenge!

So, it was that bad it warranted a red card? And people think we have some sort of paranoia!

No wonder we feel hard done by, why always us?

Sorry beefy I meant to say it depends what your opinion on a tackle is!

For me, if all three had been bookings I'd have accepted that

Red card? What are you talking about? He didn't even get a yellow.

I thought it denied a clear goalscoring opportunity as Mario was goal-side of the last defender and inside the box, moving toward goal. I am surprised Webb didn't send him off for that.

On the other hand it is Ledley King and he will be injured for the next three games anyway.
Your right leg I like; I've got nothing against your right leg. The trouble is neither have you.

You can't argue that the ref didn't see it, he gave a penalty! No chance of it being looked at, right or wrong.

You can argue about whether it warranted a red card (looked very much like the incident in which Vinnie got a red) but how does the Ref justify not even giving him a yellow !!!

The reason he didn't give a card is because he was pre-occupied with giving the penalty. Did anybody notice how when Mario went down that Webb just seemed to look at the incident slowly moving towards the box and it seemed an age for him to give it?

I honestly thought that he hadn't a clue what to do and if he could've got away with not giving it then he would have. 2 or 3 seconds to make a stone-wall call is a lot of time for someone to think about.

My neighbour this morning said that he thought Webb was weighing up the pros and cons, he knew it should have been a pen but was trying to think of a reason not to give it but then gave up knowing deep down that the club would have made a fuss given recent events... I think that makes sense.

Nah, your mate is wrong. There really is very little time between the challenge and his decision, at most one second.

It might have seemed like ages.

Edit : i meant didn't below
It was a clumsy challenged , penalised. I didn't think it was intended to harm Balo, so the penalty suited the crime for me.
