But I feel compelled to defend Dzeko again!
He was no worse than Aguero tonight..who I felt was garbage
And he is still one of the top scorers in the Prem
I admit he was gash tonight..but some of the over-reactions on here are comical
You are right, and whilst he was gash tonight along with aguero, aguero will still have great game next week and the week after where he contributes in a positive manner to what is happening on the pitch.
The problem with dzeko, is he is fucking pony every time he starts, every single time. He displays a lack of desire, he looks like a rabbit caught in the headlights every time he gives the ball away again. I keep saying though that we need a plan b in games like these, amd it seems clear bobby hasnt got one, when its staring him in the face with dzeko and kolarov.
I said with rsc a couple of years ago that i felt quite sorry for him, as hughes knew what he was buying, then tried playing through the middle on the ground, why, why buy these players only to play them in a totally alien game? But, dzeko cant trap a bag of sand at the moment, so even nailing the ball into the box might not be the answer when he os as badly out of sprts as he was tonight

The thing with dzeko is he needs to be playing week in week out to be at his best. Mancini had ideal opportunity to play him against bolton and he didnt. I cant remember the last time he started two games in a row for us. So im willing to cut him a bit of slack in general.
The question is if he cant adjust to rotation why should we keep him? If he played for spurs and played week in week out he would prob be one of the best players in the league. If ade got the game time Dzeko got he would give us similar performances(in fact he did last season except without the burst of goals that Dzeko has).
We need a Solskjaer(sorry for using a rag), someone who can do it despite only playing short periods of a game and not needing to be playing every week to be match sharp. I read something years ago where when he was on the bench he would study the game indepthly and knew where the space would be before coming on and made it easier for him to score from the bench, while also still been sharp despite being in and out of the team. Who that player is i dont know, but it isnt Dzeko.

Why shouldn't it be Dzeko ?
Did you see lllorente playing in a pass & move game yet also playing as a target man last night ? Why can't Dzeko do that, or more to the point why DOESN'T Dzeko do that ? That's why Bob signed him, I'm bloody sure of it.

This is the chicken and egg problem isnt it.
How many times can you put faith in someone who you know has the ability but continuously lets you down. Or can you just keep sticking passenger in the team hoping he comes good like torres. He is running out of chances, bob must be tearing his hair out.

His head on a pike i guess is the only option.
Cavani?
also, i'm not sure Tevez leaves or not this summer. Conventional wisdom says of course he's offski, but...i just have a feeling, that somehow, just maybe this freak of nature flip flops around and does something to show us something we loved about him.
regardless we still need 4 strikers, don't we?
