As others have said, he was not alone, BUT he was fucking terrible last night. No desire, no application and some abysmal play.

If any of his fanboys even try to defend him today they should be banned from here.

He has 10 games or so to salvage his City career. Two more performances like that this season and I think he'll be gone in the summer.

It was such a clear difference when balo came on, it really highlighted the things the Dzeko just cannot do ... and he himself did absolutely nothing to remind us of the things that he can do.

The thing with dzeko is he needs to be playing week in week out to be at his best. Mancini had ideal opportunity to play him against bolton and he didnt. I cant remember the last time he started two games in a row for us. So im willing to cut him a bit of slack in general.

The question is if he cant adjust to rotation why should we keep him? If he played for spurs and played week in week out he would prob be one of the best players in the league. If ade got the game time Dzeko got he would give us similar performances(in fact he did last season except without the burst of goals that Dzeko has).

We need a Solskjaer(sorry for using a rag), someone who can do it despite only playing short periods of a game and not needing to be playing every week to be match sharp. I read something years ago where when he was on the bench he would study the game indepthly and knew where the space would be before coming on and made it easier for him to score from the bench, while also still been sharp despite being in and out of the team. Who that player is i dont know, but it isnt Dzeko.

You are right, and whilst he was gash tonight along with aguero, aguero will still have great game next week and the week after where he contributes in a positive manner to what is happening on the pitch.

The problem with dzeko, is he is fucking pony every time he starts, every single time. He displays a lack of desire, he looks like a rabbit caught in the headlights every time he gives the ball away again. I keep saying though that we need a plan b in games like these, amd it seems clear bobby hasnt got one, when its staring him in the face with dzeko and kolarov.

I said with rsc a couple of years ago that i felt quite sorry for him, as hughes knew what he was buying, then tried playing through the middle on the ground, why, why buy these players only to play them in a totally alien game? But, dzeko cant trap a bag of sand at the moment, so even nailing the ball into the box might not be the answer when he os as badly out of sprts as he was tonight

The whole team shape was wrong, 2 defensive midfielders just fucked things up. Yaya is a traditional midfielder, he does both jobs, back, middle, forward. Did you see DeJong or Barry doing that? No? Did you see Milner doing anything? No.

Yaya is so missed not just because of how good he is, but of where he puts himself on the pitch. HE GOES WHERE HE'S FUCKING NEEDED. Help out at the back, win the ball, bring it forward or release a full back or spot the run of a forward, then he supports the attackers too.

Replaced that with Barry or Dejong or even Milner at the moment and you dont even have 3 footballers who can do one mans job.

If you play 2 defensive midfielders its so that your full backs can spend most of the game in the oppositions half, did you see Clichy go forward? I didnt, "oohhh im on the right, I don't dare go past the half way line because I'm so 1 footed I might fall over if I do" Kolarov bless him, performed below the national average, which is actually quite good for him!!

i think with dzeko its a supply and demand he needs balls coming into the box from both sides and last night we had a left footed clichy on the right and kolorov who did put the odd ball in albeit shite. Milner was as bad as dzeko too, without yaya we look ordinary!!!

Can some of you GENUINELY not understand why loads of people aren't picking out Aguero's shit performance ? There is no difference between the way Aguero has played most games when he has started & the way Dzeko has played ? Really ? Do you really think this, or are you just taking the piss ?

And the comments about how 'it's not Dzeko's game' but it suited Balotelli because he can hold the ball up etc. So if a 6 ft 4 centre forward can't play the pass & move game because it's 'not his game' & he can't receive the ball, hold it up & lay it off because it's 'not his game' can you tell me exactly what sort of fucking ball he requires for 'his game ' ?

Basically, the suggestion is that we have a 6ft 4 centre forward who (according to some) has NO duty whatsoever to take part in the game. He just stands in the penalty area, waiting for a ball to be landed perfectly in front of him, & then he sticks it in the net ?

I'm no great detractor of Dzeko - in fact I championed his cause when he was receiving stick here last season, saying he would come good - but last night he wasn't just bad. He was atrocious, to levels of atrocity only seen during one of Robinho's poorer away performances and beyond.

I can take a crap performance when a player still works hard. Most people won't pick out Sergio as much because he still runs his Chinners off.
Kolarov lost the ball in the middle and smashed the ground with both fists as if the world had ended. Compare that to Dzeko who actually passed the ball to the linesman when he was under no pressure at all and when the camera panned to him he couldn't give a fuck.

All he has to do, is bust a gut trying. If he really puts everything into it, even if he doesn't have a brilliant game, he will still make a difference to the team & the fans will respond to it. It really is all he has to do.

I genuinely wanted him to do well but sadly time has shown that ED is a gutless wimp who can't be bothered earning the obscene amount of money our club are paying him. First out the door in summer if I were the manager.

Exactly, and Mancini is more likely to give him the next game, and the one after that etc to let him get into his stride. He's only making it worse for himself poncing around the middle of the pitch.

As multiple people have already pointed out, the difference in Balotelli's work rate in comparison was noticeable when he came on and he's not exactly renowned for it.

Just because he's doing well in SERIE A doesn't mean he'll do well in City. In a team where there is no through balls, no crosses, everyone plays their own game etc...

It was the same case with Dzeko. Different league -> different system/style of football.

Dzeko should leave in summer. There is no space for him in City and he doesn't fit in. I am afraid Aguero is going to leave too.
