JOE MERCER:.....15th, 1st, 11th, 10th, 11th, 4th,......at what point would you have sacked him?
The 1st Division record of the most successful manager of a domestic club. A manager that is hated because of his success, so much that we are threatening a jelly and ice cream party.
TAGGART:.......4th, 11th, 2nd, 11th, 13th, 6th, 2nd, 1st, 1st, 2nd, 1st, 1st, 2nd, 1st, 1st, 1st, 3rd, 1st, 3rd, 3rd, 2nd, 1st, 1st, 1st, 2nd, 1st.
Considering some of you are even contemplating the removal of Mancini....Maybe you would like to take a few moments to consider if Taggart would have survived under you.
John, this may be the only reason Bob must continue. Taggart had 4 years, if i recall, before winning a cup, but still he won an european cup with Aberdeen and the title there, in front of Rangers and Celtic, who were remarcable teams, not shit, like today. Bob has 3 dubious titles with Inter and one Uefa Cup semi with Lazio, where he was just the manager on paper, the strings were pulled by someone else back then.
Of course, Bob had created some huge automatics in our play, footballers are capable of finding themselves with their eyes closed in the field and for a long time, we created a new style of our own. But can he manage under presure? Can he bring his players around him and motivate them enough to comeback from the dead? Do the players trust him?
I blame him for two things :
1) He didn't know how to manage the situation after the 6-1.
2) He didn't know how to manage players with personality like Bellers, Adeba, Tevez, Dzeko.
I consider Mourinho the best in the world, but i don't trust him like i trust Bob.
The only one i trust that ca win us the league without any trouble in the next years is O'Neill. He can bring us something, that no other manager can.
PS; You are my favorite poster and i respect all your points of view.
