Agree.
Strange selections at key moments have seen us exit 2 winnable competitions in the Europa and Carling Cups. Twice in the last 6 weeks we have "underestimated" opponents.
A trophyless season with this squad, considering the position we were in on Jan 1st, would be some collapse.
Not impressed Roberto, at all.
I disagree. Some collapse? Really? On Jan 1st, we were level on points with United in the league, had United at home in the FA Cup and were to play Liverpool in the League Cup, with Porto to come in the Europa League.
The league - we have done really well, but we were always going to lose the odd match here and there but the fact is United have kept winning and picked up more points from some very difficult games, more than any of us could have imagined. We can do nothing about that.
The FA Cup - i believe, if it was 11 v 11 for the whole game instead of just the first 10 mins we would have progressed.
The League Cup - 1st Leg was our worst performance of the season, we were missing too many key players and overall Liverpool deserved to go through.
Europa League - We played well for abut 40mins in the whole tie against Sporting, very disappointing and Mancini and the players need to shoulder the blame.
Btw Mancini has not underestimated opponents, I believe he has said it because 1. to take pressure off players and 2. his English vocab is limited. If we win nothing this season, then so be it but tearing up a blueprint that we can all before us this season with so many great performances and goals etc - removing the manager is not the answer. Frankly if he is removed then in my opinion I would say our chances of winning the league reduce straight away.
