The Arsenal Game

Here is the place to talk about all things city and football!

You can "believe" all you want, but the cold truth is that our players really don't look up to it. They bang on all week on the OS and in the media but the minute they step on the green stuff it all goes to shit, and you know I'm not exaggerating!@!

I will believe until it is not mathematically possible for us to do it because I am a City fan, I just hope the players show up with some balls on Sunday afternoon!

Glass is half full scenario - Rags lose at 2 pm and we go in to the Arseole game and smash them with a 3 goal lead!

Glass half empty scenario - well, see Sunderland...................

They were shitting it last night & Blackburn had more chances to score than they did. Now, the pressure is off them a bit but we win at Arsenal. it's right back on, believe me.

Did you see Taggart's presser last night, rambling on about scoring more goals than City, without actually having an idea what he's talking about. He then goes on about his 'experience' in these situations, which is probably valid, but why does he even have to mention it.

We've really got to them this season and he's gone hell bent to win the league. This was always supposed to be thier season, 25 years in charge, new stand named after him, 20th league title in the 20th year of the Prem League, it was all set-up for them. We've been spoiling Taggart's glory and for that I'm very happy with.

As for Arsenal, god knows what to expect. Our away form hasn't been the best and Arsenal have been in a rich vein. You never know, they lost last time out and they usually have a dip at this time of the year, so all is not lost.

I'll be watching it on a 60inch 3D tv this weekend, so that should add something to the game, if only for smashing up a pair of £100 3D specs.
In the words of my Old Man, "Life will never be the same without Man City, so get it in while you can".

They had a run of games including Chelsea and spurs away where we expected them to drop points to give us a cushion. They didn't and we started to panic.

Arsenal away could be the reverse of that. This is the weekend when the title is effectively won, as thy end up at least 6 points clear with 6 to play. If we beat arsenal the pressure is back on them to not slip up. We need to win every game to stand a chance, but let's win them one at a time.

If we do that, we have 92 points. If we do that and still finish second, I think we can be proud of the team and reluctantly acknowledge that the rags deserve it. Only once before has a team beat 92 points in the league and that would be 12 more than the rags won it with last season. Any less than that and we have to look at the games we've dropped points and blame ourselves.

Pretty much how I feel. I want to believe, and it would be much easier to do so if we were actually clawing back a deficit, rather than watching our players wilt pitifully week after week.

If the ground is empty on Wednesday when WBA visits then you could say the fans have given up on the players, but as it stands the opposite seems to be closer to the truth.

Even if we beat Arsenal, I bet we will then go on and draw or lose against one of the other teams like Norwich or QPR.

Ridiculous statement.

They dropped all three at home to blackburn. Unlikely maybe, zero chance is just silly.

Fine, very, very little chance. Clutching at straws. Every week we're getting further away from them and time's running out.

Far too many cheese eating surrender monkey's knocking about at the minute.

A 5 point gap with 7 games to go and playing the team we're chasing at home is not an impossible task. Difficult and improbable but far from impossible and it wouldn't be the biggest turn around in history if we were to do it.

Our record at Arsenal is piss poor but we haven't faced them with the calibre of players we've got now many times in the last 30 odd years. We're in a slump but who would have thought Arsenal would win 7 on the spin the form they were in before the Spurs match?

We're more than capable of winning the last 7 games and if the scum still finish above us then I'll hold my hands up and say fair play.

We're 2nd in the form guide for 2012 by a 3 point margin so we're hardly as bad as some people make us out to be since Christmas.

Last year the filth won 5 away from home all season, unfortunately there was no-one to challenge them then and they've picked it up this season.

Until the final whistle goes at the Emirates and we see where we stand then then we're still well in this race, until then a bit of fighting talk rather than handing the cunts the title on a plate wouldn't go amiss.

Ted man I am right with you!

We can take Arsenal apart, we have the ability to nick the three points. It's a big game but we are City and turn up for these kind of games!

Utd can drop points at anyone of the games to come, as can any team. Would anyone have thought the 1 - 6 would be reality, that Blackburn would take three points from old trafford? not many would have put money on it! Martin o'neill will not lay down for them like Bruce used to do, nor will mark use and nor will CITY!

With 7 games left and trailing the scum by 4 points, Arsenal have the record of overcoming the 4 point deficit and ending the season 1 point above utd and winning the league. How many records have city broke this year? Time to break this one me thinks! CTID!

IF we can stay within five points of United, and that's a big 'if', come the derby then you never know. Their last two games aren't exactly easy. A very decent Swansea side who could cause the United of last night lots of trouble, and Sunderland away, who are vastly improved under O'Neill. It ain't impossible.

Problem is a lot of ppl are blindly using this statement every week (with 1 less game each time) to ignore the fact that were mid way through a monumental sized fuck up in the league in 2012.

Do you know what is going to happen in the next few matches with any certainty at all? No, you don't because no-one does.

Is it a "fact"? No, it is your opinion.

Spare us the opinions-presented-as-fact nonsense, please.

We have to play Pizarro in this match.

This is a must win, not a must not lose.

It is absolutely obvious that he is our most talented central midfielder creatively speaking. If his legs begin to tire, replace him in the second half.
