Something special was happening in the ground. Just let it happen for a few more minutes. He can't feel it. Within minutes, people who had been up doing the Poznan roaring the team on, were sat in silence, wheras others were going home. Some were even groaning & getting annoyed as the ball bounced off Dzeko.
I like Mancini. He's a nice chap underneath & he has done a great job this season on the whole. He's also a fucking robot & that is why we're not top of the league.
We have to keep him imo, & he will win the league sooner or later but I wish he was somebody else doing the same job. Someone with a soul.

Is that you, Ted? You are the man who talks clear tactics and the need to win games with different options but now are criticising because Mancini made tactical substitutions to save players for Norwich?
I've been arguing quite the opposite for ages mate. I've been saying stuff the tactics & just go for it.

Interesting take ted, but for me that just proves why fans are not managers and can't think like them. I'd take the point for the fans he could have milked the atmosphere a wee bit more.. but how much more, enough for you, or some kids behind the goal or...
Nah, when his best players are going to be needed at 12.45 on Sat and were looking particularly knackered recently or not fully match fit, best to get them off while the going is good and look to them picking up where they left off next time out.
If Silva has gained a bit of mojo, he will be raring to go on Sat. simples
If the fans can't appreciate 4 goals and some sublime play then I really don't know what is going to satisfy them.
If Guardiola had been in charge Silva would have probably finished the game. It's not just fans who think like that.
And you are missing the whole point, just like Bob.
I'm not missing the point, but if I am then I'm glad, as the fans at the Etihad will not be there at Norwich, but Silva and Tevez and the others will be. For what it is worth, that you will disagree with because I'm trashing your lovely point, is that the players already got the good vibe from the fans as you pointed out, that's all they need.. maybe that is a bit robotic but if it has Silva and Tevez champing at the bit for Sat then Bob will have done his job and used the fans and the games' good tonic to great effect.
So, with respect to your point, I'm glad that Mancini is not so emotional. If there was no game on Sat it would be a different matter altogether.

Just watching [strike]MUTV[/strike] Sky and they've rolled a psychologist out to talk about Mancini's comments last night, asking why Mancini is not talking up the title. Now, this alone is fucking ridiculous but then the gimp comes on, a ginger Irishman (nothing against ginger Irishman btw, just broadening the picture), and states that it could be a way of taking the pressure off himself and put it on the players, showing that he has not trust in them. Other bullshit is spouted then the presenter then goes on to say '...but he's up against the master of mind-games in Taggart' to which the psychologist comes out with the mighty words 'Man U'. Not Manchester United, not United but 'Man U'.
It's getting beyond ridiculous now where Sky are trying to fuel a feud but then using one of the clubs supporters to try and discredit the other team.
Sorry, just thought I'd share.

Plain Speaking wrote:A good post, however to look at it from another viewpoint. I think Mancini seemed to be trying to get something from Dzeko and AJ from the "feel good" factor buzzing around the stadium. Another goal involving either of them them would have created a more widespread happiness throughout the squad. We can look back with hindsight and say it did not work but if there was a time for AJ and Dzeko to be introduced with "no pressure" surely it was this. I agree Silva was superb in the 2nd half but he was probably trying to protect him having found his mojo again. Looking back the body language of Dzeko was atrocious and I'm sure he has mentally "packed his bags" to leave. I expect AJ to leave too.

I was thinking about Savic when I read the battering he got on here and in other threads. Is he really that bad? I certainly don't think so although agreeing he isnt ready yet for a first team place with us yet. But maybe he can mature into the quality defender Mancini presumably saw initially.Only time will tell.He will have made a decision I am sure re whether to hang on and work with him even if it takes another year or so or just get rid and it will be based as much on his character while he is being slaughtered as the ability he has.

Mancio4ever wrote:I frankly find quite weird the Savic part of Your otherwise spot on analysis, because as from my point of view, possibly the biggest Mancini licker, the Savic issue caused me to link - for the first time ever - the idea of clueless to Roberto Mancini. I mean, clearly there are very few great talents around for the CB role, and the list is even thinner if You consider the enrolling policy of City which prefer young talents: thus I don't blame very much his signing. But sticking with SS after that back header assist to Defoe and that offload to Yaya which originated the Swansea scoring opportunity was just criminal, no matter what defensive contingency had to be faced: I rather have started Carl instead and painted some naked wags on the CFs opponent's shirts!
Ted Hughes wrote:I have no idea whether Savic can turn into Bobby Moore but why does he deserve time to become City's CB any more than any other 21 year old ? What has he shown us that means we have to persevere with him ? Why can't we just sign someone who looks like a really promising CB & persevere with him (but not in the 1st team) instead ?
