We'd get part of the £20m back though as we have the resale clause in our favour from the tribunal?
Good point about the home grown, has talent and isn't as random as a Mario or an Adebayor so I could see him fitting in well with the current setup.

Surely he would end up as 4th or 5th or even 6th choice player for any of the front 3 positions though & end up sulking all the time?
If we get rid of Dzeko &/or Balotelli & sign Sturridge, even though they haven't 'gelled' as well as we hoped, we are still downgrading imo & I just can't see Bob doing that without making a big move alongside it; more likely he would sign another top quality attacker then add Sturridge as a squad player surely ?

He'd be 3rd choice behind aguero and tevez surely? He is not remotely a downgrade and bob already said he would have him straight in the team!

Plus he'd be handy for hown grown at home and in Europe.
Maybe he could fulfill his potential back here?

That's fine but his he going to wear it if he's not starting games, which, unless he improves 100%, he won't be ?

They need to have patience and maturity to sit on the bench when required and not let it effect their self confidence. Guidetti and Sturridge have both said they would not be happy sitting on the bench as Dzeko has done. Both are potential trouble makers.
(I've heard the rags carry out in depth investigations into all aspects of their prospective signings including mental attitude).
IMO we need a consistent and reliable player who is nearing the end of their career, someone like Forlan or Henry.

Strange as it may sound but I am sure City also carry out in depth into all aspects of prospective signings. That was a real part of what Mike Rigg and his scouts were all about. The first reason we should go for Sturridge ( if we do) must surely be that he would be able to play in our first team and be a real contributor. For that he would need to be able to play the sort of football we want to play and not be a selfish,it's all about me character.Only second would it be important that he would be prepared to play 2nd fiddle, which I agree he wouldnt be happy to.
I would have said Sturridge is best suited to a team outside the top 4 where he would be the number one man.
