fa ruining football

Postby bigblue » Wed Apr 18, 2012 3:27 pm

Apparently the FA has given Chelsea and Liverpool each 25K tickets, while leaving 40K tickets for corporate sponsors. An appalling disgrace that will cripple the atmosphere in the stadium.

The clubs should just hold the game at an alternate location for their fans to enjoy

Yeah, Im sure the always do it. Its an utter disgrace !! Its a massive ask, but it would be good if fans and the two sides refused to attend and play the game until something was done about it.

I even know people that have never been to a game in their lives, or just the odd one or two, but end up goin to finals because of the company they work for or someone they know. Its fookin sickening for the likes of those that attand as much games as they can but lose out on the finals.

With a bit of thought, it could work perfectly for the rags. Tickets for the 1st half and tickets for the 2nd half.

When the 1st lot have fucked off home early (as they tend to do)....let the next lot in. Why leave all those empty seats?

Fucking genius me!!!

I don't think the majority of the tickets not allocated to clubs go to "corporate sponsors". I think the FA give a couple of tickets to grass roots clubs that apply for them. It is a way of ensuring that they are seen to help incentivise the lowest levels of football which is entirely reliant on volunteers and income generated by the clubs hard work.

Difficult to balance between the clubs fans and the people who devote their time, effort and money into grass roots club down the road I suppose.

Maybe if the grassroots clubs work hard enough (and have incredible luck) they can earn their supporters a day out at Wembley. Until then, the game should just be supporters of the two respective clubs

Bollocks. This is the FA's line but it is absolute bullshit. They do not give 40,0000 tickets to the peasants for free because they are just such nice guys.

It would break down something like this, 35,000 to corporate sponsors and possible sponsors and companies linked with sponsors and companies linked with companies linked with sponsors. And 5 thousand (in the gods) to the grass routes lot, of which 4800 end up on fucking ticket master or some other shit with a nice 500% mark up.

Fancy a guess at where the sponsors will be sitting for free?

Should be 50/50 right down the fucking middle for FANS and no one but the fans and if the FA couldn't afford wembley they shouldn't of fucking built the piece of shit.

Also if the FA gave so much of a shit about the little guy they would of stuck 2 fingers up platini's fat nostrils and told him to shove his FFP aka death of progress up his French arse. But instead they accepted it wholeheartedly because they don't give a toss about anything but money.

Firstly, I doubt whether the club at which I have volunteered much of my spare time along with probably a dozen others with its local players who pay subs to come and play will ever get the chance!

Secondly I should have made it clearer, as far as I am aware the club applies for tickets and is charged if and when they recieve them. We have taken advantage of this scheme several times over the years and been granted a couple of tickets which have gone either to fans of the clubs in the final from the members of the committee or people who have worked extremely hard in the running of the club. Never have they been sold. I am not defending or critisising the system, just explaining that it is there and that the remainder of the ground allocation is not all corporate sponsors.

A national stadium wasn't needed.

If the FA truly cared about the grass roots game and the future of English football they would instead have invested heavily in child/youth/grass roots development, on producing coaches that promote technique and tactics and referee programmes to ensure we produce fit, competent and consistent refs.

But they decided spunking 800 million on a national stadium in Lonon, and ensuring fans of teams that play there are restricted in attending was a better idea.

The F.A are not fit for purpose.

Totally agree. Does my head in every week watching a bunch of 6 year olds trying to learn ball control on a mud bath and spending more time dribbling round dog shit than round defenders. These are what will be playing in that white elephant in 20 years time and it's not going to be like watching Spain or brazil.

Again, if they really cared about youth development, put a 1% tax on the gross salaries of all premier league players with the money spent on pitches, coaches and equipment.

As for a national stadium, it's to the detriment of the England team. The place is often half full of school kids on freebies and teams want to play there. They should have continued like they did when Wembley was being built, by moving matches round the country. If you then get a tricky qualifier, you play it somewhere like West Ham or Portsmouth where the fans are right next to the pitch and the atmosphere could be intimidating.

Nice one, John.

I suppose this is what you might term "thinking outside the box"......as opposed to shooting from outside of it.
