Good (apart from Ashley Cole who we could still do with).
I bet all those scouse players who put the boot in when he got sacked are feeling a bit sick now.

Perhaps this is still a short term appointment to see them through the Euros. Probably no compensation to West Brom and he may even be back there for the start of the season depending on how well England do at the finals.
The England job is a poisoned chalice right now. Very little real quality coming through in the next few years, the squad needs a complete overhaul and rebuilding from the ground up. Is Hodgson really the man to do that, to manage the development of the facilities at Burton and take Team England into the next decade and beyond? I think he makes a decent stop gap but is not the long term solution.
Cant help thinking there is more to this than meets the eye and that there is someone else waiting in the wings.

Richards, Rodwell, Walker, Hart, Oxlaide-Chamberlain, Sturridge and Wilshere are all young players who are, or have the potential to be, excellent internationals. I'm sure there are loads more - that's just off the top of my head. Welbeck isn't as bad as some on here make out and should definitely go to the Euros. We could still do with a second top-quality striker along with Shrek, though. I don't know what's happened since the mid-late 90s when we had loads. At one time we could call upon: Shearer, Sheringham, Owen, Ferdinand, Wright, Fowler and a few others. Now there's only Rooney and Bent who are capable of 20-goal seasons. Why?
