Khaldoon is closer to Platini than Gill is, and Platini has come out and said that it will be impossible to put sanctions against the larger clubs. FFP is turning out as toothless as we expected.

This news itself is so sad for them that I can't bother to take the piss.

In general, can anyone name single player who came out of retirement and did as well or better than before retirement? Also, does anyone else find it completely pathetic that they have their testimonials and emotional farewells and shit and then after six months come back?
Sometimes we're good and sometimes we're bad but when we're good, at least we're much better than we used to be and when we are bad we're just as bad as we always used to be, so that's got to be good hasn't it?

Fergie is going ballistic as the rags rattle in despair: City are gonna play Hazard and they can only seek for... well, Shinji Kagawa!
I can already sense someone, like CityGer, would like to read arrogance in this post, while it's just a joyful acknowledgemt of the Evil Empire fall.

I've been particularly amused at reading these Taggart's quotes:
"We know City are going to spend fortunes, pay stupid money and silly salaries. We know that happens. We can't do anything about that.
"We are not like other clubs who can spend fortunes on proven goods. We invest in players who will be with the club for a long time, who will create the character of the club and the excitement for our fans.
"But we need to move on. Financial Fair Play is just around the corner.
"It is a flagship programme for Michel Platini and how that is implemented and the sanctions that are imposed are going to be interesting."
He is so desperately seeking for the lifebelt promised by Monsieur Platini & Herr KH Rummenigge!!!.... priceless

I believe shinji kagawa is a fantastic player. I'd have him at city.

I think he is a) the cheap option and b) not really good enough [see a)]. If they do get him, it will have the advantage for the filth of doing City's profile in this country a great deal of harm. It needs to be pointed out though that Liverpool are more popular here than the filth.

Young Shinji is also not the midfield general they are sorely in need of - I think he is Rooney's replacement. If I were a pissed-up, bacon-faced, dour, trophyless scottish twat or a money-grabbing owner in need of a financial boost from the Japanese market, I'd be looking at Makoto Hasebe to fill the gap in the middle of the Park.

Kagawa should stay where he is and play every week.

Anyone seen the comments coming from the United dinner?

Ferguson unhappy City won title after United game finished: "It's something the Premier League should look into" HOW???

Ominous message from Ferguson at United dinner: "Those Sunderland fans who cheered for City ... we won't forget that" Really Fergie?

Ferguson: "We aren't like other clubs that can spend fortunes ... City will spend fortunes, stupid money & pay silly salaries" No need to comment.

MUFC chief Gill on MCFC: "We'll see what's happening with the financial fair play & how that's implemented & what the sanctions are "

No class what so ever. Even on a night where it was all about them they can't help themselves but talk about how we've bought the title, blah, blah, blah.

Funniest thing is that all games should finish at the same time. How could that possibly happen? Is he suggesting we do away with Fergie time?

Mancini really has affected him this season. Brilliant.

I also read that Fungusnose says whilst we buy players and pay silly salaries the swamp jockeys invest prudently and develop their youngsters like Berbaflop, Pubehead and camel face not to mention a host of others.

The man is delusional. A trip to a psychiatrist would also probably reveal that he is a cunt too.

never intended to say he's crap, Mate, but I would be very surprised if he'll be capable to jump on a global rollercaster and light them up all by sudden. I'll keep my dollars on Hazard, rather then on very unproven youngster from a completely different world.
I saw several very talented japaneese players thrown on the Seria A stage by weird sponsorships but none of them ever imposed themselves among tops. In a way that's quite strange considering that, racially wise, Japaneese and Asians in general, do excel as per coordination and low center gravity, but we all know that pro football is far more than potential skill.

Also, technically wise, I endorse what Tokio pointed out earlier above.

1. "unintelligible language"
2. "ACID QUEEN"
3. "never once fails to turn a football thread into a himseelf thread"
4. "thumbs stalker often resulting in repetitive thumb strain"
5. ignore the cunt. he's on permantent wum mission. only TIDs may know City

You'd need to make a very good psychiatrist in order to guess what next in a eight yrs long line of hatred...

They'll be stronger with Giggs and Scholes than without. But it is storing up problems for later.

Scum are going to spend, he's full of shit. He's asking for money and trying to put a little pressure on us.

Asking for money and getting it are two very different things. He spunked 50-odd million last summer to drop a place.

Ferguson has done an amazing job as Utd's propaganda minister, psyching out opponents before they kick off & also getting some decent performances, such as away at Arsenal, out of a fairly average squad.

When you look at his spending on players & the standard of his aquisitions over recent seasons though (& moreso since our takeover), he's made two decent signings in Valencia & Young, taken several big money gambles on young players which have yet to be proven & also signed bucketfuls of utter fucking shite.

The only real successes are Young & Valencia, & let's face it, Young is hardly Lionel fucking Messi; he's an above average player who suits Utd's system, nothing more. Little Pee has been found out as purely an impact player, the Brazilian twins are dogshit, Berbatov (imo twice the player Hernandez or Wellbeck) has been sidelined, Bebe, Obertan, Tocsic etc been and gone, Anderson average, the list goes on; the cunt is giving himself credit for this shit.

It's time the media exposed this bullshit for what it is. He talks about signing young players; several dodgy defenders, a weakling striker, a dodgy goalkeeper & who does he end up relying on; two 50 yer olds who he didn't sign in the fucking first place.

His big success is Rooney. That signing was hardly fucking rocket science was it ? He just offered his mate Moyes loads of money for a player everybody wanted: exactly what we have been doing & he's slagging us off for.

When it's come down to the wire this season, Bob has made fewer mistakes & showed more inspiration & has also wiped his arse with him on the 'mindgames' front.

There are a lot of things we can learn from Ferguson & Utd but so much of it is bullshit too.

Whatever bullshit they spout, they have one option now, either spend some money or they'll need binoculars just to see the back of our bus before it disappears over the horizon.

Its an interesting thought that i hadnt considered before i read this thread.

If you were Malcolm Glazer, why would you want to finance a huge spending spree for the likes of Modric etc, it just doesnt make sense.

He knows that financially there is no way united can compete with city, or for that matter Chelsea if they put their minds to it. But so long as united finish in the top 4 and win the odd cup, united have a consistent level of income and exposure for sponsors via the champions league.

Why would he want to invest substantially in the playing squad if he doesnt think he can keep up with city. In my mind, were i him, i would do exactly what i did last year, spend the ronaldo money on a few young talented players, aiming for them to be the foundation of the side for years to come, and buy the odd star to keep the fans happy.

Am i dreaming with this scenario, or does it make sense

I think you are making sense but imo they need substantial investment just to maintain a top 4 position. Without Giggs & Scholes, they would have been borderline this season; it will get harder. If their cloak of invincibility slips, many more teams will do what Everton did & not only that, Rooney will slap in a transfer request.

They have to spend & will do imo. If they get it wrong, Ferguson is fucked.

Im sort of thinking along the lines that they will sign the japanese feller and maybe gaitan, sort of 2nd tier rather than superstar material, to replace ryan giggs and paul scholes, rather than the plan which prefiously may have been sneijder and modric

That sort of signing, with bacon as manager should keep them up there, will keep them sensible in salaries and transfer outlay but won't have them challenging right at the very top barring a miracle for them.

If the rumours are true that they're looking at 3 players from Dortmund, Hummels, Kagawa & that Polish dude, that would effectively be a new spine for the team. It would also be a huge gamble which would mark the end of them if it failed.

I checked out Gaitan when we were linked with him & am hoping to God that we aren't interested. Great crosser of the ball but total ponce. If they do sign him, I don't understand why; they already have better players in his position imo. Mind you Ferguson seems to want as many quality crossers as he can get in the squad and it's worked for 20 odd years. I would actually much prefer Hulk to him for the same job though & I can't stand him.

He's better than Park/ Carrick/ Anderson. They really do have shite central midfielders. They really need a real world class player there, someone like Yaya.
