That is so very very true. If he wasn't rag legend, he'd be coaching Wrexham U16s by now.
I've always found it hilarious how these former rags will get endless amount of chances at top level. Look how long Bryan Robson, probably THE most clueless manager in Premier League history, got in top flight. And you could see million miles away that this guy had no idea whatsoever what he was doing.
You just see when Gary Neville, Giggs and Scholes go into management, they get free pass for at very least three relegations and if they end up in good position, endless amount of mid-table finishes.
Hughes will spend tons of money in summer in what is already reasonable squad (I'd take their current team over anyone inn bottom 10) and finish somewhere in mid-table (8th to 10th) and be hailed as a rainmaker. Then spend more money and keep them there for three years or so. That is his absolute ceiling as a manager. Now imagine if some Johnny Foreigner manager did that with same money. Would that be good enough for media and (after intensive media pressure) for fans?
