It has already been mentioned that Warnock brought in a brand new team and his points just about match up to the cluless cunts points tally even though he had the latter part of the season with them......................that shows hes fucking shite.

It's already been stated that Hughes earned 132% of the points-per-game that Warnock did. Basically, for every three points Warnock earned, Hughes earned four. Or, to put it another way, if - as NQDP asserts -Warnock was going to deliver them to safety by having the full season (hitting 40 points), Hughes would have likewise gotten them into eighth place (53 points) over the same number of games.

This season, we earned 125% of the points-per-game that we did last season.

If Warnock 'just about matched' Hughes, then our performance this season must have been 'pretty much the same' as last season.

FFS...Warnock had a fuckign brand new team for the first 20 games or so.

Yes, I will admit that he had pretty much a brand new team, but they were players he chose to sign.

So you reckon they weren't settled during Warnock's tenure whatsoever, but somehow blended just in time for Hughes to take over?

Also, they earned 12 of their 17 points under Warnock in their first 9 games, and five in the next 11, which kind of puts paid to the 'time to blend' theory...

Maybe they would have gelled under Warnock, and finished higher. But then again, maybe we'd have also won the Premier League under Hughes (I don't believe either, by the way). The fact is, we don't know, and all we can do is state our opinions, and back them up with statistics. Or, if you're NQDP, state your facts.

People really should stop defending Hughes now and admit that City's owners did the right thing in replacing him.

Agree and there was always a small possibility that he could step up and manage a big club if given enough time but once FFP was announced we didn't have the luxury of waiting to find out. Seeing the same old faces supporting Hughes now who failed to understand the ramifications of UEFA's policy change at the time, and were often quite vitriolic in their attacks on those that did, just draws the need to point out his continued averageness and that the owner, the directors, and those that saw/foresaw the need for change have been vindicated.

I seem to remember that one of the worst things about Hughes, which proved he was a wanker, was when he swapped SWP & Petrov over onto the opposite sides of the pitch for five mins once.
