Nope. World Class implies what it says. Joe hasnt demonstrated that nearly enough at Champions League or international level to deserve of that label.
It also doesnt help his cause when his main tactic in a penalty shoot-out appears to be yelling out loud or making faces at the penalty taker. Buffon's approach is better, ie look calm and relaxed and actually save a spot kick.
Joe's a top keeper, but we rush in to labelling players world class in this country fuelled by the tabloid media and their tub thumping on our Premier League and national team.

Any keeper with 2 consecutive golden gloves (one beating van der sar who was an absolutely world class keeper) in the best league in the world is world class. We haven't jumped the gun with joe he just is world class.

Yes he's had 2 very good years for us in the Premier League but labelling him Wold Class already is an example of how we jump the gun in this country in regards to our players. When he's done it a couple of years longer, and on the top competitions and business end games (Champions League, Interntaional tournaments), we can label him as such.

For a supposed "rag hater" that's outrageous comment.

Alan Shearer, Jimmy Greaves, Tommy Taylor were all better, even if you only mean strikers. Among England footballers in general Rooney is way down the list.

Cristiano Ronaldo, Lionel Messi, Xavi, Iniesta, Pirlo are "world class" - Rooney is a long way short. England have 1 potentially world class player and that sadly is the left full-back; scumbag of a person though he may be, Cashley is the only current squad member deserving of that label.
Spot on.

The penalty that Buffon saved was a shocker, really poor. Italy were just better at taking penalties. Hart did put one player off.
