We may have survived without going out of business if we'd lost the playoff final, but I doubt we would have got back to the Premier League for a long long time, if at all. People mention the loyalty of the fans but they are forgetting the vicious, terrifying, impatience that came with it. A bad start next season & players who became heros would have become 'cunts' who 'don't try' & Joe Royle would have been 'inept' & ultimately sacked. There is no guarantee of a good season following a day like the final. Gillingham thought they were about to become the main supported club in that part of the country & tap into millions of floating fans. They didn't.
Without that chain of events, we certainly would not have got taken over by Frank or the Sheikh; someone else would.

Be honest, you don't remember any of this do you ? You'd lost interest & just saw the occasional goals highlights. It's true isn't it ?

I'm nowhere near as hardcore as some of you but I don't think I have made any secret of that.I do knoe that I have supported us all my life and thats not going to change and as for the issue then I think we did not achieve something we were not easily capable of but now winning the prem and being CHAMPIONS is an achievement. And I didn't remember it till I reading about it

That's a yes then.
Nobody is questioning that you love City but please don't argue with people when you don't know what you are talking about, as all you are then doing is wumming people for no good reason when they are making a valid point.

You replied to my post so how come you don't even know what you yourself were replying to ? Read your own post. You have quoted it.
This is exactly what I'm talking about. You are only interested in arguing, not in actually contributing to a discussion.
Other people discuss things & have a point of view. You decide you will argue with them, even if you have no idea what you are talking about & then you change the subject to create another argument when you get out of your depth.
It is just a wind up or alternatively, you are a mental case.

I've made a point about what players we had at the time,I have made a point about how we spent the league in the top places all season,I have made a point about how many clubs go through financial difficulties and come through it.Your the one who won't disscuss the points without any evidence just trying to get digs at me.

We didn't have all those players at the time. Hence I knew you had no fucking idea what you were talking about.
You've got people like Fat Bob Taylor, Mark Kennedy etc. SWP made his debut the season after in the First Division & then only played a few games (the playoff I was talking about was in the 2nd division by the way, which is two divisions below the Premier League).
I'm sure you'll try to twist that now by saying you meant something else, but you didn't, you are just bluffing & pretending to know about a team & players you hardly ever saw play.
Why you insist on doing stuff like this, I have no idea. Just don't comment if you don't have any knowledge of the subject, instead of pretending to know stuff & arguing with people. There is no point.

My memory has other things in it so the exact details of our squad may not be as comprehensive as yours but for confirmation of what I knew and referred to and records that other people have kept:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shaun_Wright-Phillips
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Robert_Taylor_(footballer)
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mark_Kennedy_(footballer)
The three players you tried to prove your point with are recorded there. The other stats are taken from statto.com,if they are liars take it up with them.I have a tendency to believe them over you.I realise your a bit of a hero sacrificing all your time and money to make sure we didn't go bump so excuse me for having the temerity to question your interpretation.

I've tried to be civil.
Robert Taylor scored against us for Gillingham in the playoff final, you embarrassing, phoney fucking excuse for a City fan.
Just fucking shut up for fucks sake.
pepsi_dave wrote:I'd like to add that I wasn't there either, but I can recall with almost crystal accuracy, the fact that the other scorer for Gillingham was Carl Asaba,I can also recall Horlock's goal, Dickovs goal I also recall lee crooks missing by millimetres, Dickovs penalty that came off two posts if I recall correctly, I could go on.
Surely such an important monumental moment in our history would be embedded into your brain.... If I was to ask you to recall fa cup semi and final last year, rags away this year, QPR at home this year etc, you'll be able to recount with crystal accuracy the chain sequence and rough sequence of events.
Something somewhere doesn't add up pal, surely you can see that.

Yeah I've been rumbled.
