I've said it before but Mario is box office gold in PR terms so if Mancini is happy to keep him then the owners will be mindful that Mario generates media copy on much bigger scale than any other City player and his antics and performances at the Euro's only served to enhance his profile. Play it right (and fingers crossed) Mario could be the poster boy for the entire City project. So okay it could end in tears but either way it will be played out in the media on a global scale which is kind of the point.

Mario is box office gold for good reason. To date we have not had any global super stars synonymous with City, only local heroes. I don't think he hates Manchester City as such. In fact, I remember him writing numerous articles about us over the years praising our support and stuff. But this was when we were shite. I think he just generally hates rich owners. Being well known Arsenal supporter this should come as no surprise.

I still think he is one of the most insightfull football writers. He just has an opinion.

I don't know about that but over the last two seasons his writing has been full of vitriolic shite. Perhaps he has decided he was fighting a losing battle ?
