Exactly what vhero would say.

Btw "vhero" just autocorrected to "Cheri" on my phone. True story.

Given that PSG last night very nearly blew their first home game ( Ibra penalty in extra time and another goal) , i would suggest their problems lie elsewhere and Mario would be silly to go there.

Yep can see that the club is definitely trying to piss Mancini off for nixing the sale of Mario for £40m. Handing Mancini a new 5 year contract was a real low move. Doubt if he saw it coming to be honest...

I've said it before but Mario is box office gold in PR terms so if Mancini is happy to keep him then the owners will be mindful that Mario generates media copy on much bigger scale than any other City player and his antics and performances at the Euro's only served to enhance his profile. Play it right (and fingers crossed) Mario could be the poster boy for the entire City project. So okay it could end in tears but either way it will be played out in the media on a global scale which is kind of the point.

Sell mad Mario? You would have to be crazy to do so at this stage.

This.

Mario is box office gold for good reason. To date we have not had any global super stars synonymous with City, only local heroes. He has the ability to produce on the field with a rare charisma that makes him news off the field. Even people who dont follow football now know of Balotelli and Manchester City.

I don't think he hates Manchester City as such. In fact, I remember him writing numerous articles about us over the years praising our support and stuff. But this was when we were shite. I think he just generally hates rich owners. Being well known Arsenal supporter this should come as no surprise.

I still think he is one of the most insightfull football writers. He just has an opinion.
Sometimes we're good and sometimes we're bad but when we're good, at least we're much better than we used to be and when we are bad we're just as bad as we always used to be, so that's got to be good hasn't it?

He seemed to change his opinion last season and quite often defended us on Sunday Bollocks talk. I'm sure it was noted on here and suggested that he had been 'persuaded' by the club to be 'a bit nicer' t us.

Did we not have him on the pitch at half time talking to the PA bloke a few times last season?

For the umpteenth time; Gary Cook was singling out various top reporters to show them the plans for the project & how our owners were different than others & had a long term vision, which included Mark Hughes.

Henry Winter, amongst others, swallowed that & printed a glowing report on City's plans. Two weeks later, Hughes was sacked, thus making Winter & others look like fucking idiots.

That was why he went for Gary Cook at the press conference. No other reason. Some, like Oliver Holt, have hated us ever since. Winter has since calmed down & is very reasonable when it comes to City. Which I think shows him to be a decent geezer.

I dont follow his articles but Oliver Holt seems very level headed and fair when discussing city on his twitter feed. Whether he's clamed down as well I dont know.

I don't know about that but over the last two seasons his writing has been full of vitriolic shite. Perhaps he has decided he was fighting a losing battle ?
