No FA action against Van Persie for his blatant elbow. Fucking typical.

Van Persie and Tiote escape charge

The FA will not be charging Manchester United's Robin van Persie over an alleged elbow on Newcastle's Yohan Cabaye in their Premier League game at the Sports Direct Arena on Sunday.

Newcastle manager Alan Pardew was angered by the challenge, which happened off the ball, and called for the FA to investigate it.

But the matter has not been taken further after match referee Howard Webb reviewed footage of the incident and said he did not consider it to have been violent conduct.

The FA also said no action would be taken against Newcastle midfielder Cheick Tiote, who appeared to stamp on Tom Cleverley's leg, or Stoke defender Robert Huth, involved in a similar incident with Liverpool forward Luis Suarez at Anfield.

Speaking after his side's 3-0 defeat, Pardew said: "He [Van Persie] has looked at Yohan and he has elbowed him, and I think that perhaps needs to be looked at if I am honest.

"There's a bit of history from last year [an incident involving Van Persie and goalkeeper Tim Krul] and I don't know if Robin has been caught up in that, but that was just a little bit unsavoury.

"I actually thought Yohan wouldn't have gone down if he hadn't done something. I didn't see it myself, but I have obviously seen it on the replay and it looks like he has looked at him and put his elbow there."

Utterly breathtaking

Of course:

a) given his position when the incident took place - he must have seen it at the time

b) if webb says he has not seen it action would have been taken, so.........

c) his way of providing further support is to say that he views it has not violent - WTF!!!!!

Only the scum/Webb could get away with such obvious bias - even to the extent that Webb does not mind making himself look a totally corrupt cunt - FFS the video evidence is clear

Oh - and clealry leaving myself open to accusations of paranoia - Huth and Tiote probably benefit from it seeming best not to charge them if letting Persie off

If RvP still played at Arsenal , Howard Webb would have given a different statement and the FA would have banned him guaranteed.

Probably true.I think Webb saw it at the time but gave nothing and now this comment after "reviewing" it. I just remember the Mario incident with Modric where I am convinced he saw it at the time but was persuaded by the furore to say he didn't see it so that action could be taken.

I do recall yesterday that the first foul against united was after more than 20 minutes which got typical jeers from the barcode fans as it seemed like he was being really biased up till then. Some things don't change.

Saved by the ever reliable Webb it's gone beyond a joke at this stage. The term corrupt comes to mind.

At this stage Howard Webb should be deemed unfit to officiate a United fixture ever again.

He has so much history for blatant favouritisim for them.

18% of all the penaltys he has awarded in his career have been in favour of United. That is a worryingly large percentage, it can't just be a coincedence.

To be fair, giving Van Persie a retrospective 3 match ban helps nobody. It doesn't help Newcastle, it doesn't help Sky, or ESPN or BBC. There are 3 difficult games (Stoke, Chesea and Arsenal) that will be shown to the public and how would it detract from the viewing public not to see such an accomplished player like Robin Van Persie.

In fact, it would be affront to those watching the game not to be able to see one of the Premier Leagues most prolific strikers. It cannot happen, I don't want it to happen, and hopefully the FA will come to the correct decision.

Yours,

David Gill

But who's going to deem him unfit to officiate? Certainly not Mike Riley, a former referee who had his own fair share of dealings (usually from the bottom of the pack) with United back in the day.

He's just a puppet, or should I say, someone's wank glove to be more apt.

Exactly Beefy, nobody is and thats the problem.Along with Reilly they have David Gill the CEO of United on the Fa board, it just stinks to high heaven. You know what Webb probably got a pat on the back for it all.Not just blind to elbows but also to balls crossing the goal line, quite amazing really.

It sickens me that they can hide behind the argument that if the referee did not see the incident they can not act upon it afterwards. It's a ruling that allows them do whatever they want and favour whom ever they wish.

The rule is that if the ref sees it and takes no action then it is deemed a decision already judged so therefore can't be looked at again. Strange that he seen Mario's non-contact on Parker but came back to look from another angle. Strange also that they can chop and change the rules as and when it suits them.

It does stink mate but because it's been going on so long, nobody really cares anymore and there's definately no surprise. It opened Mancini's eyes last year so far to say that he put the match-fixing Italian referee's above ours. Says it all really.

The video evidence is clear; Manchester United striker Robin van Persie looks over his shoulder, sees Yohan Cabaye and swings an arm out to strike the Newcastle midfielder.
The Dutchman's arm is raised and not moving in a natural arc for someone running. Here there is no ambiguity, unlike when a player is jumping for the ball.

GRAHAM POLL...whose a cunt at the best of times but hes right here.

and theres more.

NEWCASTLE are fuming after the FA let Robin van Persie off the hook over his elbow storm.
The Manchester United hitman’s escape capped a day of incredible leniency as the FA also cleared Luis Suarez and Gareth Bale over diving claims and decided to take no action against Robert Huth and Cheick Tiote for alleged stamping.
Toon are stunned RVP will face no inquiry for seemingly elbowing Yohan Cabaye on Sunday.
Ref Howard Webb admitted missing the incident during United’s 3-0 win but insisted there was no case to answer after studying video footage yesterday.
A Newcastle source said: “It’s unbelievable. If that’s not violent conduct what is? Van Persie clearly elbows Yohan.

a very, very solid argumentation.

They are going to get a red card in derby ... unless of course if Howard fucking Webb is reffing or another of Fergie's cronies ... then we might be the one getting one early.

Whenever you read an article or news item about them mentioned in it, it always gives my blood a reason or two to boil, without fail.

I can't believe they seem to think Bale didn't dive - there's even a camera angle from almost directly behind him showing clear air between him and the keeper.

The point is that Bale, along with several others - benefits from a 'general amnesty' last weekend

In their determination to support the scum they hide the blatant corrupt persie decision amongst others - they are fooling nobody - but it goes so deep I guess that they do not care

I think we'd be better of with Italian referees. At least they're subtle enough to disguise their corruptness.

Tbf to Bale, he jumped to protect himself as it looked like Guzan was about to take a swing. As long as he doesn't roll around afterwards & the ref sees it for what it is, I don't have a problem with it.
