Who Do You Blame For The Sending Off?

Postby King Kev » Sun Oct 21, 2012 8:35 am

I have no real problem with the fact that Milner was shown a red card. He brought down the last man, so by the letter of the law he has to go.

However, I think the real blame lies with the man who needlessly gave the ball away in the first place. When Kompany got the ball he was in loads of space and had plenty of options. Unfortunately he chose to amble forward with the ball at his feet until it was taken off him. This obviously lead to the break away in which Milner committed his foul.

Ha ha ha, I was so tempted to blame Joey but then realised that he should get the 'thanks'.

Ultimately it was Milners fault as he commited the offence but Vincent 'made him do it'

Clattenburg is a shite but I can't blame him for that one, nor Milner for trying to tackle the bloke.

Vinny was cruising past people for fun midweek & thought he could do the same in the Premier League. Just like other so called 'ball playing' defenders such as Vertonghen & Luiz have found, if you do that shit over here, sooner or later you get your pants pulled down.

Stick to simple passes Vinny.

I blame Scotland. It was too easy for Vinnie to move forward on Tuesday and he thought it would be the same yesterday. But he got his pocket pinched.

I blame Basil Fawlty!

Milner was running for his life after Clattenburg clocked his well endowed bouffant. Shaved Long just got in his way!

Only Kompany is to blame here. What on earth he was thinking I'll never know.

Milner did his best to get back and make up for Kompany's mistake, but Long was always going to get there ahead of him as he had the momentum going forward, whereas Milner had to turn around and then chase after the ball (plus Milner isn't the fastest player around anyway!).

Hopefully Kompany apologised to him in the changing room.

The big shame though is that we now lose Milner for 3 league games. He should be starting for us every week in my opinion. I hope Mancini keeps him in the side for the Ajax game in midweek.

It will only be a 1 match ban for Milner as the sending off wasn't for violent conduct (which would carry a 3 match ban)

Definitely Vinny. I'm fairly certain he apologized to Milner right after it happened too.

Milner couldn't really do much in that instance could he?

Still the defense is looking better by the week so I'm not too worried about it.

I blame Bob for not dropping Vinnie. There's only so long you can persevere with a player who's not on form; whether they're your best defender or not.

How do you get your form back without playing matches? Mind you, he may still be carrying the knock he got in pre-season so perhaps a rest is all he needs. That is not the same as being dropped though.

Re the OP, Kompany definitely caused the sending off by giving the ball away in a very silly manner. He owes Milner a pint big time.

Vinnie without question. He's had a poor start to the season but of all people I think we can forgive him a few poor games after he has carried the defence and team in many matches prior to this season.

Pissing modern "BLAME CULTURE". Why do we always have to find someone to pin stuff on. All players make mistakes, Milner took one for the team, shit happens, life goes on.

It was obviously Vinny's fault but why the thread and need to highlight it again?

What is wrong with Vinny this season? When will we get the real Vinny back?
