On any terms, it has to be viewed as a successful season, considering where we had come from. On a personal level, the first half of the season was, and still is one of my favourite times following City.
I thought that maybe it was just a reaction from sitting through the second half of the previous campaign under SP, with no goals, mind numbingly boring football, and to me, it seemed that we were forever losing to spuds at home on freezing cold nights. Robbie Keane and his bloody backflips.
What a contrast under Sven, the football was scintillating, the sun always seemed to be shining, the combination of Elano and Johnson was a joy to watch, I really thought we were going places with that team. So many high spots, the Newcastle FK, Giovanni bending the ball past van der Sar in the home derby, Stevie's winner against Reading, and of course the impeccable derby at the swamp.
Fond, fond memories.
