I love City still, too. Dont care about recent postings slagging off "foreigners". Today was a mere glitch in terms of a result. The only thing that bothered me today was the thuggery in the stands and on the pitch. That is exactly what City does'nt need with an estimated audience of 650 million looking on.

I think after such a dramatic end to the season, we have been slow and sporadic this year. We can and do raise our game to our opponents level (except in Europe ... and domestically mostly resulting in draws), but in general we seem really flat. It's almost like a feel deadened a bit by the tremendous out pouring of emotion on the final day last season, now there hasn't been much to really stoke those fires again. I feel like i'm waiting for it but it's not coming.

The support isn't less, but right now I'm not fired up like I want to be. I was hoping that a derby win would do it, and when zaba's goal went in I was fucking up and feeling it again ... of course we know how that ended. I just feel like some spark is missing this season. I hope we find it.

Good post.We are certainly not playing like the well oiled machine that won the league. It's been a difficult season so far.Champions league was a total disaster but we have somehow
managed to hold a decent standing In the league. It's hard to pin point the problem but the team is struggling to find proper form.So many players are performing well below what they are capable of.I really hope yesterdays result will act as a spring board for better things. The result will hurt and maybe that will get them motivated for the task ahead.Anyway I certainly don't support City any less, I'm not really sure what that's about.

No change here. In fact, I love the club even more.

Love 'em I say.

We are Premier League holders. Never thought I'd see that ever. I will die as a happy man no matter what.

Yesterday hurts but I never felt so philosophical regarding City ever before.
Sometimes we're good and sometimes we're bad but when we're good, at least we're much better than we used to be and when we are bad we're just as bad as we always used to be, so that's got to be good hasn't it?

Everything is going to feel very flat for a long time after the thrill of May 13th. Possibly for the players and all the club as well as us. It was an emotional high that can never be quite matched again. It is a reality we have to adjust to, some are dealing with it with calmness, others have turned into spoiled little children. We witnessed a few of the latter at the game yesterday, there are a few on here too.

I support the rags now, but obviously that could change if City re-take the lead before the end of the season.

Me too. We lost but nearly pulled it out from 2 down and it all just confirmed to me that we are actually better than they are. All it needs now for me is a few better manager decisions on selection and gameplan plus a couple of new players in January and we will be flying again. Yesterday was just a blip on the way to the top.

Yep - its not the end of the world is it? I'm completely calm about the whole thing.

In the past I would have been thoroughly depressed after any derby loss (the general humiliations for years aswell as the more recent 4-3 Bellers derby and the Carling Cup semi loss when the club had "all that money" etc etc) but since the FA Cup and League wins (not to mention the 6-1), I feel I have no right to be upset today.

City had 60-70% possession up to their first goal, and were playing well without creating any decent chances and they sucker punched us twice. The team fought their way back into the game (neither of City's goals were beautiful, they got the ball over the line through determination) and that showed a lot of spirit and belief from so-called mercenaries who dont know each other.

Then Nasri bootled it for the free-kick...

What can you do??

I am spending today and the rest of the week ignoring all rag media as they will milk this for everything it is worth, but everyone knows that its not as bad as they will make out.

Who said football domination would be easy (or quick)?

Edit: Just re-reading that I realise that I did not answer the original question on this thread..... So to be clear - No, I do no support City any less than before. Not sure why I should.

I will never stop loving City or suppporting them, I might not like them very much this morning but I will love them like normal in a couple of days.

I think last season we got pretty lucky with injuries to key players at key times. I know we lost Vinny for a period of time but I think on the whole we did ok injury wise. This year we have been hit with Sergio, Barry, Milner, Maicon, Richards, Lescott, Zabba, Garcia, AK, Silva, Kompany and Clichy. That list is considerable larger than last season and is in key areas.

been following the club since late 1980s after some of the lows, lows and more lows of that period the defeat yesterday seems very small beer.........onwards and upwards, the graph is rising, bar the odd blip here and there, were not done yet.

I tweeted very similar to this after the game. Been a fan for almost 35 years and never expected to win anything significant. Last season has changed everything and will stay with me forever. I don't support City for the glory, I follow them because they're City.

Though another trophy this season would be nice....

in general I don't care as much as I used to "when we were shit", I don't know whether its me getting older, or if I just prefered the theatre of hoping we'd sign someone like trabelsi or samaras or that I expect, rather than hope, we beat the scum at home or what it is
still really, really love 'em though don't get me wrong - yesterday didn't change that !
