You really are a sad prick. I can seen the same posters here criticising city, even in that new Newcastle thread yet you aren't on their case. Get a grip.

There are two conflicting truths for me that make me wonder what we do.

1st Mancinis trophy haul has earned him loyalty and time.

2nd if told in August we'd get knocked out the league cup at home, go out the cl dead last without a win and lose the home derby to fall 6 pts behind we'd all consider that a huge failure.

So I say again I don't want him sacked, but something has to change and how do we do it?

This puts it all into perspective. Other than firing Bob, all we can do is trust & hope he changes it one way or another or just write off the season.

Bitter pill to swallow is all.

I'd like to think I'm not becoming arrogant and expecting trophies, but I think realistically we all thought we'd do better than this.

I think I could accept it a little easier if we were playing some attractive football amongst the poor form. Entertain us as a bare minimum please bobby.

I don't mind us losing, I've seen enough of that for it not to worry me too much. But at least have a go. I was proper mad at half time yesterday, but at the end I was just gutted about that scrawky goal, as we had a decent go at them and had them on the back foot. The first half was pathetic.

How the hell do you lot think that the rags have won so much?

Apart from the obvious cheating and diving, every time they suffer a setback, they grit their teeth and fight back twice as hard. Fergie makes loads of mistakes and rants at his players when things go wrong. Nevertheless, they rally round, heal the splits and get on with it. Unless we can do the same we will never overtake them and worse still, we won't deserve to.

So let's take it on the chin, man up and start treating our management and players as assets not liabilities.

Mancini should be given another crack next season providing the worst case scenario happens...as follows;

We get to the semi final of the FA cup and if we go out it has to be down to an unlucky break after having played our bollocks off.
If we miss out on winning the prem then it has to be down to the above mentality , working our bollocks off and just missing out by sheer bad luck...if we fuck it up and the scum win by a stupid margin then it wont be acceptable and he will deserve to go.

I think thats fair enough.

Agreed, but I think a lot will also depend if Jose is out of job at the end of the season and Pep too announces his one year hibernation is enough and he is ready to come back to football ... with those two out in the market a lot of clubs will be forced to see things differently ... hell, even Man United would be thinking that at some point Fergie has to go ... thinking then (including ours I suppose) would not only be to get one of em but also to stop the competition from getting em ...

Even if we win the league and get to semis of FA cup or the other way around, win the FA cup and come a close second in the league ... AND Guardiola and Murinhio both are available end of season, you can't deny that our club hierarchy and owners will have a serious issue to debate (given Mancini's European record) and that being our next logical target ... who'd want to have Mancini as their manager then if it means Chelsea lands Jose and Pep goes to the swamp? I think the club will consider either of them even if Mancini wins one of the two remaining competitions ... the only thing that's save Mancini's ass comes end if season is a domestic double now ... (and Jose stays put for another year, Pep extends his New York holiday for another year and Fergie stays put at the swamp)

Hughes is out of work.
He knows the area so he wouldn't take long to settle in.
We may have lost more but he never set us up to lose games.
Most of the players will know him and his methods.
He attacks and we could resign Bellamy and Seanie Wright Wright Wright.

...and think of the fucling debates and arguments on here..AWESOME EH!

Puck your way through this thread and its the same old arguments - we won the title not because of Mancini but despite him - we have a weaker squad than last season as Mancini couldn't recognise a decent player if he fell over them - and then the lets have Jose or Pep

Only Chelsea have demonstrated that changing managers can be a successful formula - Pep is totally unproven at both Premiership level and outside of Barca - he grew as a manager with that side & ended up baling out when it started going wrong and he couldn't find a way to rectify it - how dominant would Barca be without Messi?

We need to give the new team above Mancini a chance to get our transfer policy right - hence why I don't think Jose would be right as we'll stifle his ability to sign big - out of respect we should give Mancini time as well. We're second & a comfortable one at that. If un*t*d are as shit as posters make out then they'll be found out at some point & like last season we'll be there ready to pounce.

I know where your coming from Lee and it's a real head melter.

I fully support Mancini but this season so far has been a major let down.I know we are sitting in second with the league to play for but i just am not enjoying my football this season. It probably comes across as being petty and i don't want to sound spoilt but it's mainly due to the manner of our performances. Some of our best players to me seem to be showing a distinct lack of effort and it's frustrating the shite out of me.

Along with that Mancini seems dead set on squad rotation and it's not allowing the team find any kind of rhythm at all.I can understand doing this when we have 2-3 games a week but enough is enough now.

I really feel if we can see come consistent team selection our performances will improve and we can push on and apply some steady pressure on the rags.

Bobby Manc has won something in each of his full seasons in charge. This is now nearly his full squad.

I'd like to see what he might win us this season.

I'd also like to see if he wishes he'd never bought Mario. It's clear the squad think Mario is a twat.

From last season we seem to have lost something. I think he controls cerain aspects to much and allows other situations like Balo to fester. His support for him is fantastic, but must confuse the squad.

Something along those lines, definitely.

Bob clearly made a difference during his initial piss boring period when he organised the defensive part of the team, & even though it was excruciating to watch, everyone knew he had a plan. Last season he started brilliantly, then it fell apart round about this time, then Tevez rescued it. This season, we have largely looked like the side which fell apart last season; beating shit teams, struggling against most of the decent ones.

He has to show us 'something' which proves that he is actually managing the team & getting something out of it which wouldn't be happening if he wasn't here & that last season was actually because of him, & not just a bunch of very talented players winning the title. I'm not even arsed about the cup tbh. I just want to see evidence that Bob can take this team & improve it & that his management skill includes getting the best out of the players he has, rather than just using the adrenaline of new faces to perk up the team. That kind of thing should be the icing on the cake, not the cake itself.

Management isn't just about signing players & dicking around with tactics. He has all the tools to at least put in a strong challenge from here, win or lose. If we surrender, like Arsenal; he goes.

If, given all this, he still manages to hit the ground running: we make the CL knockout stage with ease and wipe the floor with our rivals. It would be one of the most stunning managerial achievements ever.

The chances are, though, that he would need time to make it all work. I'm sure the owners would give him the time. I'm equally sure that many fans wouldn't.

Since we are talking about manager who just won us the league, I think that itself proves what you are trying to say.
Sometimes we're good and sometimes we're bad but when we're good, at least we're much better than we used to be and when we are bad we're just as bad as we always used to be, so that's got to be good hasn't it?
