Make the most of this small window of success you are having because it won't last Class is permanent and form isn't and like your form in Europe there is only one way you are going and it's not up. I must admit it is good that the plastics from across the way have had there noses blooded but I'm afraid it won't last.
The Arsenal are an institution and always will be one of the biggest clubs in world football, how many clubs still have 40,000 fans on a season ticket waiting list even after 7 barren years ?
We were used to winning trophies for fun and while it lasted it was great but in reality terms nothing ever lasts for ever ( apart from class) .
Some of the best times I have had supporting this great club were in the mid 70s when we did not win anything, this was because you were with real passionate fans and could laugh and cry win or lose and have banter etc. Nowdays it's full of tourists and corporate fans who do not understand the fundamentals of supporting your club.
Anyway thanks for letting me post on here and if anyone wants to make some comments on our site " The Herd " you are welcome

Are you a complete TIT or working overtime to get there asap? You are our feeder club (FACT), a selling club with ZERO plans to buy any payer over 2 pound fifty and whos owners take the piss out of you muppets on a weekly basis.

Arsenal have fuckign ZERO class and your manager is a fucking retarded gesticulating Duck whose obsessed with our club.

I hope he stays with you deluded muppets for another 10 years.

That 'form is temporary class is permanent' saying is one of the biggest load of bollox ever and rather sad to still see people using it (not just you Herd btw as some City posters on here use it as well)

As Herd has neglected to answer some questions on Woolwich Arsenal and Henry Norris, here's a short passage explaining some of Arsenal's "class" and "History" that they seem to cling too like a turd on the pavement

"In 1910, Norris became the majority shareholder of the ailing Woolwich Arsenal (after the club had gone into voluntary liquidation) while still retaining his post on the Fulham board, and became club chairman two years later. With Arsenal's low attendances and poor financial performance, Norris tried to create a London superclub by merging the two clubs, but this was blocked by the Football League. Undeterred, he turned his attention to moving Arsenal to a new stadium; he eventually settled on a site in Highbury, north London, on the site of the recreation ground of St John's College of Divinity; his close relationship with Randall Davidson helped, and the archbishop personally signed the ground's title deed. The Arsenal Stadium opened in 1913, and the club dropped the Woolwich from its name the following year.

Norris's most infamous contribution to Arsenal's history was his role in the club's promotion from the Second Division to the First in 1919. Arsenal were elected to the top flight in spite of only finishing fifth the previous season (1914-15, as competition had been suspended for most of World War I). This promotion came at the expense of other clubs, most notably Arsenal's arch-rivals Tottenham Hotspur. It has been alleged that Norris bribed or in some way unduly influenced the voting members of the Football League, in particular the league chairman and owner of Liverpool, John McKenna; at the League's AGM, McKenna made a speech recommending Arsenal's promotion ahead of Spurs thanks to the former's longer spell in the League (Arsenal joined in 1893, Spurs in 1908. Wolves, who finished ahead of Arsenal, had been members of the league since its inception in 1888). Although no firm proof has ever been offered, Norris's other activities, including the scandal that led to his downfall, are often cited as circumstantial evidence. Some claim that Norris 'bribed' McKenna, although this is pure speculation. Probably more likely is that he lobbied McKenna, who fearful of Norris exposing the corruption in the league at the time (Utd and Liverpool were accused of fixing the last game of the season) yielded to Norris's request to promote Arsenal to Division 1 based on their longer spell in the league and their professional status."

Norris was basically a MASSIVE property developer back in the day before getting into football (quite ironic if you consider what they did with Highbury) ... so property developers are deemed ok but oil barons are not ... strange world eh

Chinners, Id wager a high percentage of Arse fans who harp on and on about history, class and moan about Sugar Daddy's know very little or anything about Henry Norris, or indeed Woolwich Arsenal and how they arrived at 1930 when they began to win tangible stuff.

Similar thing I suppose to Liverpool fans and their clinging to "istree" which in their eyes began around 1965, when football was apparently first invented.

Liverpool started winning on a regular basis (in the '60s) when the Moore's family (Littlewoods) started pumping in the money. Plus ça change, plus c'est la même chose....

So back then it was Utd, Arsenal & Liverpool involved in a carve up at the expence of others. Then along came the Premier League & Utd, Arsenal, Liverpool carve up the biggest part of the money & spin offs for themselves, then along comes the Champions League & guess which clubs are carving up a large part of the money. Then along come City & guess which clubs are the loudest voices trying to get the rules changed to stop City gaining an advantage.

Maybe the herd has better things to do than look back on old posts as down here in the south we have better things to do and lives to live outside football.
The history of our club is unique trust someone like you to bring up parts that mean nothing . Fact = Arsenal are one of the biggest clubs in world football with a huge fanbase
Fact we could still put what you have won in your history on an ants testicle .
Fact= Class is permanent form isn't
Fact= Invincibles
Fact= Doubles
Fact = trophies
Fact = 40,000 waiting list still despite 7 years without a trophy
Fact= biggest club in the south of England and always will be
Fact= Won the title on all of our biggest rivals grounds Shite Hart Lane x2 Anfield x1 Old Trafford x 1
I won't go on any further as I have things to do, I apologise to any decent City fans on here who talk common sense and like a bit of banter without being biter

Fact we could still put what you have won in your history on an ants testicle .

Considering there's 11 major trophies on there it must be some sized Ant you are referring too.

Fact - your club was elevated by a sugar daddy and crooked dealings, was on the verge of liquidation and isnt even from North London
Fact - Lets see how the 40,000 waiting list does when you are out of the Champions League places and sliding further downwards
Fact - we'd won our first major trophy 26 years before your "history" that you cling to had seen you win an effing carrot.

Now answer the question - tell me about sugar Daddy Henry Norris and how he is quite important in artificially elevating Woolwich Arsenal football club.

But there is no doubt in my mind that Arsenal fans are the most arrogant around and they believe they have some god-given right to be successful. I have never met an Arsenal fan who can take a joke about their club, or get involved in a bit of light-hearted banter when it's about their club. Although rare, I even have a couple of United mates who I can do that with. I think part of their hatred of us is the fact that they regularly beat 'little old City' for years, particularly during the Henry/Pires days, and they can't stand seeing us not only move up to their level, but surpass them.

The way the Arsenal fans celebrated their 1-0 victory over us last season, it was like they had won the Champions League, and I have no doubt they will be going all out to beat us this weekend.

This is a crucial match for us and I really hope our players are up for it. In the game earlier this season we were dreadful and Arsenal played out of their skins, yet they could only get a 1-1 draw with us. We need to go to the Emirates on Sunday and impose our game on them. If we do that from the start, we will win.

Don't they teach spelling and grammar in North London schools? Then again, you must have to be a proper half-wit to watch a rapidly deteriorating team at rapidly increasing prices. Good luck next season in Europe, at least you'll have something to do on a Thursday, if you're lucky.

Europe lol are you mad to be even talking about that as you are the most embarrassing team to have not turned up in the CL.
Any City fan who knows football would not even bring that word up with an arsenal fan.
Half wit :-) see above for that.
Spelling :-) read Class is permanent form isn't

This really, really surprises me. Where did you pull this stat from? I didn't think any club had a 40K waiting list, and am amazed it's you, especially considering the prices of tickets, unless you've got some different definition of 'waiting list' where people can stay on it indefinitely, in the hope of getting one of the cheapest (£900+!) STs...

It would be a very welcome change to actually read some more moderate stuff about City from a Gooner, even a bit of humour would be pleasant. Over the last few seasons, most of the shite emanating from North London about us has been venemous lies and angry bile. Mix that with a liberal serving of arrogance and you will find most City fans have lost any respect for the Gooners.

If Wenger isn't at fault for any of your recent problems Mate...then City have certainly taken the blame for just about everything. I have even had one particular Gooner screaming abuse at me in my cab the moment he learned i was a city fan. along the lines of "I fuckin hate you blue bastards, your are killing football by buying success and destroying everything good that Arsenal have put in place." There was more.

I hope that you personally are treated with respect on here but you may find a backlash from some very angry city fans at the public stance your club has taken in it's openly vile criticism of City.

Meowww
I can talk moderate if it calls for it mate and if you look at some of my comments I have plenty of humour and banter in me. Lies and bile ? Would you like to elaborate on that .....
Most City fans who know there football will always have respect for Arsenal . Tell me a big football club that has not had a run in with another at some stage of there existence . It's the nature of football just like banter and I can take any thrown at me on here and also give it back ten fold but I prefer to be moderate rather than bore you to death with fact figures etc.
So one Arsenal fan has a go at you do you taint us all because of that .

Fact - Arsenal have won the Champions Lge as many times as Manchester City
Fact - Arsenal have won the Cup Winners Cup as many times as Manchester City. For fans of "history" we won this trophy 24 years before Arsenal did

Thank god for Nayim and Valencia's penalty takers for making that last one still true.
