We are just about where we were last season ... difference has been they have improved and are 7 ahead of us where as last year they were behind. That's what concerns me most ... the fact that they blew it last season, won't happen again ... Fergie would be reminding them that every training session.
They not only improved (RvP, Kagawa) but losing on goal difference last year is pushing them on ... we on the other hand aren't any better than last year so kind of feel stagnating a little ...

This is either because it is the best scum side or they are riding their luck
It's not their best side
AG7 wrote:Mancini is quoted somewhere today saying he'll be happy come the derby day in April if he is 5 pts behind.
I am sure it's mind games by him ... I would rather we are 3 pts ahead so all the pressure is on them to get the 3 there. I am not sure I am so confident of even us getting all 3 this time when we visit them ... so I'd rather our title not be hanging on that then.
They play next Spurs away and then have a home game against Everton a few weeks later ... two games where potentially I see them dropping points between now and April derby at scumland.

Getting closer now ... in gameweek comparison, we are now only 3 pts behind where we were last season (51 v 54), and they are only 2 pt better (56 v 54)
And over in same fixtures comparison ... nothing changes for us, as we beat Fulham at home last time around as well, but for them it worsens slightly as last year they had beaten Spurs away. However overall they still stay 2pt ahead in same fixtures comparison last season, and we remain 1 pt better off than last year.
All these nos. will change and reflect positively for us over the next nine fixtures (all the way to the derby) as they only drew one and went on an 8 match winning run (last year, around this time) while we wobbled during this period and lost 2 and drew 2 ... so the nos. might get us excited over the next nine fixtures ... but it's the last six that'll decide because that's when we won those on the trot while they dropped 8 points.

AG7 wrote:Apologies for the delay in updating the tables ... you can understand my lack of keenness in updating these right on the weekend. Anyway, here they are ... and yes, its pretty much game over!
And I guess you'll understand if I don't update this thread and tables here on till the end (bar a miracle) ... so see you next season with two parallel tables, one comparing the ongoing season with the Title Winning season and one with the Title Given Away season.

No body's given up Chinners (read my thoughts in other thread, will continue to hold on to it till mathematically impossible) ... but lack of comments or interest in these two tables over last few updates perhaps suggest people don't want to look at these numbers anymore ... thus the suggestion, looks weird if I am updating the tables every week and just talking to myself.
I at my end will of course be updating both tables every gameweek to have two complete sets for next season ... but if you guys still like, sure I'll keep posting em here every week.
