This Weekends Other Games

Postby Beefymcfc » Sat Mar 16, 2013 5:12 pm

With all the commotion I'd forgotten there were other games on.

Saints beat the Dippers 3-1 and Benteke took the points for Villa against 'Old Twitchy'.

Anybody up for the Rags game?

Everton 2 - 0 Man City FT
Aston Villa 3 - 2 QPR FT
Southampton 3 - 1 Liverpool FT
Stoke 0 - 0 West Brom FT
Swansea 0 - 2 Arsenal FT
Man Utd v Reading 17:30

The BBC have already worked out when the Scum are going to win the league , the game after we play them.

So no point really.

Well, we've only got Newcastle in the league so there might be a good chance.

Looks like he's going to carry on from where Wiggy would've left off though. 2 exact same incidents from both teams, both decisions in favour of the Rags.

Never a penalty, honestly ref! All's I did was push him out of the way as he was invading my space.

Amazing how AJ is still invisible even in a middling side against middling opposition.

Just noticed that Bunn's been sent off and a few minutes later Sunderland get a penalty. Was it all legit?

Edit: Just seen the sending off and wondering what the rule is for handling the ball outside the box (not quite intentional, either)? I understand that with a foul he can send him off for denying a goal scoring opportunity but I'm unsure as to the ball hitting his elbow and bouncing off his chest.

Also, not seen it but they've just said the ball hit Bassong's chest and he wasn't even in the box. The ref gives Sunderland a penalty. How does that compare to yesterdays penalty decision against us?

To me it looks like the Premier League are getting their house in order for next season.

bunn with handball outside the box that denied a goal scoring chance. correct call, imo. second handball for pen was more debatable and harsh on Norwich. But we all know Foy likes to be centre of attention.

I think It was a red despite Bunn's reaction. Not sure the ref could call it from the angle he had, but replays show Bunn had his arms up and the ball bounced into his elbow, so the ref ended up making the right call.

I wasn't convinced by the penalty. Defender cheated it across his body away from goal towards the byline and the linesman saw it roll from chest to arm.

Unlucky with the sending off as it seemed to go off his body to underneath his arm. Then the pen one was definitely wrong. It was off side to start with as the ball was played and then came off the top off his chest. This is the standard of our reffing and not all about corruption.

Fellatio's handball was a far more obvious pen.

Btw, anyone else notice that we're seeing linesmen make a lot of big calls this weekend?

You're not suggesting foul play? ;-)
Your right leg I like; I've got nothing against your right leg. The trouble is neither have you.
