We should get Alex McCarthy if Pants leaves. Everytime I have seen he has been impressive. He was immense against Liverpool and has been great against us so far. He is also fairly young and is English. Would be a great under-study to Hart.

i think you mean he "played" in the PL - he'll be back in the fizzy pop league next season, so maybe he would be interested in a move so he could stay in the PL.

We should hold Costel to his contract but put him out on loan to a premiership side (newly promoted?) to get the exposure and experience he needs - as we did with Joe when Shay was with us.
Can't sell him while the juries out on who's the better of the 2 stoppers, would keep him if he gets the game-time and will, in any event, sell him for more if he proves himself in regular play.

Yes, I agree that he said he wants to leave but listen up because he added a reason to support his statement. That reason was that he wants to leave because he needs game time - exactly as per Joe Harts noises prior to his loan spell with brum.
Think it over - Joe and Shay were both good keepers and Joe proven himself while on loan. You think we should have sold him? I'll guess not and I'm just applying that logic to the Joe v Costel situation that we now have - I suspect that Costel may prove himself the better of the two because he already has attributes that Joe hasn't developed (fast & accurate distribution / goal area domination etc.) I may be wrong in that but I'd like to see them both playing in the perm. If nothing else it'd at least focus Joe and dear me he needs some focus regardless of his clean sheet record (much to do with sitting behind the best defence in the country IMO). the FA final was a prime example of Joe not having a lot to do because our defence was superior to wigan's - but he was outperformed by the wigan keeper and we lost it. I wouldn't have mentioned it if it were an isolated incident but there have been many more across the season and I think that Joe's drop off in performance lost us at least 10 points this term - 1 at least against the rags at our end. Ergo; Don't sell Costel. :-)

I've never known a top 4 side with as many players up in the air pantillimon, Maicon, Richards, kolo, lescott, Kolarov, Sinclair, Aguero, nasri, dzeko and tevez all rumoured to be unhappy or looking for a way out.

Regardless of who we bring in we need to hold on to the majority of these players and then buy on top of that.

Personally I'm COMPLETELY opposed to changing keepers. I think you should have one number one keeper who plays always and every game.

Seen on some sites that Pellegrini has a 5 man list for players to sign this summer:
Number 1 is Isco, then Jesus Navas & Geoffrey Kondogbia from Sevilla, Angel Di Maria (ugh),
and.......Reus.

The Daily Star claims that Manuel Pellegrini - whose current club, Malaga, confirmed that they will let him go this summer - has told Etihad chiefs that he wants Malaga star Isco to head that shortlist.
The Sun backs up the report, with both papers that a deal is all but done for the 21-year-old winger, who has also drawn interest from Real Madrid and Barcelona.
As for the other four players? Real Madrid's Angel di Maria, Sevilla duo Jesus Navas and Geoffrey Kondogbia, and Borussia Dortmund’s £32m-rated winger Marco Reus.

Frankly, aside from Isco, I dont really buy it. This guy is being heralded as being able to get the best out of players, why would he come in and drop ~100m euros right away?
