I agree that Sergio hasn't been upto scratch this season but imo that is the case with every single player we have bar Tevez, Barry, Zabba & Milner.
Sergio, Yaya, Silva, Hart, Kompany nowhere near their true world class, all the rest, not consistently top 2 Prem standard.
The whole squad has been at 60% all season & only the sheer quality of players such as Aguero & Tevez, the poaching insticts of Dzeko, the bits of genius from Silva or Nasri, have dragged us through mundane performances.
It's only because they are so good, that they can be so far off top form & still get 2nd place.

And this is why I'm saying that the love for aguero and hate for dzeko shown on a weekly basis here is ridiculous
I don't believe either player has ever got to truly top form, and both have spent a significant amount of time well well below par.
I want to see both thrown into a lineup with attacking intent, varying the play and playing to THEIR strengths, not just the tactical philosophy of a manager who regards his tactic as the only thing that matters.
I' quite excited for Sergio as it happens, I think he could be at the centre of great things next season

The difference for me is that Sergio always tries, even when not fit. Dzeko just plays when he feels like it & rarely two games in a row.

Yet Dzeko scores...nearly always.
Its frustrating and I know where your coming from but I still think he was fucked over,I remember he was scoring for fun at the start of the season then he was suddenly dropped....cardinal sin in my book.

When was he dropped?
Foreverinbluedreams wrote:Are we talking the season just finished or the season before when referring to him being dropped when he was scoring for fun? Sorry for nitpicking, I'm just not following.

Cheers mate. I love all the players the same. Sergio, Dzeko, it's all good for me. The only problem I have with Edin is that we don't have the personnel or play the game to his strengths. If we did, we might see a totally different player. I said the same about Mario, that he should be played as an out-and-out striker, but that wasn't to be.

I'm assuming Carl means the previous season.

Now now John. I have never said that. You didn't like me suggesting stuff that you felt you hadn't said.

Lets get Petrov back and give him five minute cameo roles so I can properly vent my spleen.
