Inside Forward/Winger on the Left
Silva/Navas/Agero
Inside Forward/Winger on the Right
Jovetic/Nasri/Aguero
Centre Forward
Negredo/Aguero/Dzeko/Guidetti
I think that gives us great options up front. I don't really consider Jovetic a true out and out centre forward, but would probably play well as part of a front three.
Assuming Guidetti Stays, we have 4 True strikers. I feel that Aguero will be used more as an inside forward to complement the attack. Or of course we could have a front three of Aguero Dzeko Negredo.
Really, when you think about it, the options we can implement are almost endless. 5 in midfield with the 5 made up of mainly holding players, or the 5 could be made up entirely of attacking players!
I just can't shake the feeling that with this much flexibility and this many options that someone will be leaving. Nasri? Garcia?...
The word potent springs to mind.

You've missed the hole. (That's what she said!)
Silva, JoJo, Yaya.
And what's with the Football Manager terms?

Homegrown Trained in country
Starting: Hart, Zabaleta, Kompany, Lescott, Clichy, Fernandinho, Yaya, Navas, JoJo, Silva, Aguero.
Bench: Costel, Nastasic, Richards, Milner, Nasri, Negrado, Dzeko.
Squad: Johansen, Kolarov, Barry, Rodwell, Garcia, Sinclair, Guidetti
Anyone notice what's missing?
Well the good news for you Dave is you're right, the bad news is two of those players will miss out on the Champions League, one for the 4th centrehalf I haven't listed(unless Garcia is moving there full time) and one because we only have 3 homegrown players. Last season I think we named 23 players in our CL squad for this very reason(if you can't fill the requirements, you can leave spaces instead). The solution of course is to name Rekik to the CL squad and then pick 24 of the players listed(Guidetti, Johansen and Richards all have to be retained) and I would think in that instance, Sinclair would be the one to miss out but Rekik against the likes of Messi, Ronaldo, Ibra, etc. Well as much as I like the lad, we'd be better served putting a wheelie bin out there.

Thanks for this. Can you elaborate on the 18 and 25 and the requirements? It is always something that has baffled me.
Cheers.

Nope, still mad.

boyata is a good shout to make the 25 man squad - he's the only defender with the squad i can think of who is remotely ready for first team action.
you also forgot richard wright, who i assume will be in the PL squad list, but not the UCL squad list. he signed a 1 year extension, though i have no clue why.
BmoreBlue wrote:i do wonder where johansen's future will be this coming season - i kind of hope he ends up on loan at a championship club where he will get regular matches. lawlor and gunn should be playing with the EDS all season to continue their development, so if we plan on keeping johansen around, he's a bit in the cold.
not sure if the powers that be think he is good enough to be a backup down the road or not, but having him train regularly and never play a match seems like a waste of time for everyone.
Saul Goodman wrote:Thanks for those posts Slim. The 25 thing is what is confusing. I feel incredibly dumb, and I'm sure I am, because it still doesn't make sense to me.
Great info though
