What's Happening With The Rags?

Postby Beefymcfc » Fri Jul 26, 2013 7:54 pm

So far this close season they've been highly linked with:

Ronaldo
Alcantara
Fabregas
Bale

All top names in their own right but why aren't any of these stories becoming fact? The Ronaldo deal was soon quashed while Thiago is now saying that there was no approach from United at anytime. Fabregas was always a no-go and can anybody honestly see United spending 60+ mil on Bale?

Then we have the Rooney incident where it became clear to all with a modicum of sense that they are trying to force him out the door. First Taggart says he put in a transfer request when he clearly didn't and then Moyes says he will make a good 'stand-in' if RvP gets crocked. Is that a way to treat one of your top earners?

Why did the Equaliser really fly back, it doesn't look like there was urgent transfer business afterall.

Now that the transfer speculation has gone flat/been rebuffed we now see stories of Gollum being 'Born to be King' and 'Davey Boy has been preparing for this job all his life'. Was Moyes really plucked from the land of the Brave(heart) and planted in a greenhouse just outside Manchester?

It's all getting a bit much, especially when you throw in the likes of the Falcao deal after we beat them and the forced introduction of the PL FFP, and I think there are real problems over at the Swamp. I don't usually say that they could be on the wane as they've bounced back too many times but with us and Chelsea firming our squads with quality players I think the Rags have said we'll concede it this season and consolodate what we've got. If it happens this year, where do they go next?

After Taggart standing down, are we now seeing holes appear in the once steadfast ship; is the Glazer affect taking, well, effect?

Apparently Thiago said United were never in for him. Sounds like they just wanted to satiate their fans with media stories

I don't really want to say anything, in case I'll jinx it. But it strikes me that now both the long-term CEO and the ever-so-long-term manager have left, the rags are open to unrestrained Glaserism. So hopefully money (a la arsenal) rather than money-and-trophies (a la the Govan piss-can) is the bottom line.

Until the transfer window is closed I'd never discount those crafty trafford fuckers, allways something up thier sleeves and remember, Taggert isnt far away.

With them both leaving at the same time (well, their current jobs anyway), I do wonder if their hands were forced rather than walked. No need for Gill if there's no need for big deals and Taggart would've seen the writing on the wall. And with the Moyes appointment, a bloke who can run a club on a decent budget but nothing special, then you could possibly join the dots together.

They are as close to a corporation as a football club can get. gill left because the corporation sees benefits in gill currying favour in other areas...such as executive commitees. conflict of interest?. of course...but how do corporations thrive? through a mix of antipathy, benign corruption, avarice, greed. they are the greediest fucking cunts out there!....hey...competition? they like it...but not too fuckin much of it...chelsea were ok..but us? steady on...abramovich might get bored but our guy?...what bores him? probably what bores us...the same old every year with mancorp utd winning stuff having spent more money than anyone else and expecting compliance. what is going on is no different to tesco or ford or coca cola or disney or microsoft or any other of these pillars of zombiedom...you even look at their slices of the cake and that goody goody "at the service of the people" veneer peels off.
They are scared.

I notice there are at least two stories every day about them in most of the media, one being a common transfer related issue the other some pointless banal crap 'exclusive' to that particular media outlet.

I kind of put the two together, (one official rags release, tother made up chitter chatter by who the fuck cares johnny journo), and it then looks like a concerted effort to talk themselves up. I think the journos just can't help themselves blabbing on as a kind of attempt to pretend everything is still the same, when evidently it is not.

Lets all have a cup of tea and a sing song shall we.

Imo they are showing their nerves. Hopefully it will infect the whole club and translate to the pitch. Truth is we don't know what is going to happen, even though the massively public transfer sagas seem to be going tits up at the mo, they may pull something out of the bag.

I'm not surprised by all this though, if you think about it after so much stability under the purple fungus, it is quite natural to be now consumed with a fear.

Is gollum actually up to it character wise? - so far he looks like a rabbit and out of his depth.
Were all the players happy at finally getting their lifetime ambition to play under gollum. - Shrek no, what about the others, what if he doesn't win their respect?
If god forbid they stumble badly into the season :) and a few players minds start wondering about him, has he got the gravitas to pull it back together while all and sundry in the press are telling him what to do.

Has anyone seen any pre-emptive excuses rolled out yet? ie, rags need to be patient and take the season as it comes.. need to bed in... rebuild a style/defence/midfield/attack/fill in this space with whatever you can think of while having a morning dump.

Nothing to be excited about yet.We can think what we like about this not being "normal service", hell I even saw the ginger dobber doing an interview, but until things start to unravel with poor results in games that matter I am saying nothing.

Spot on.Hope they continue the way they have gone so far but Im sure they will make at least one notable signing. So far the way they are operating is nothing short of farcical.I just hope they continue in that fashion.

The more I hear everyday the more I get convinced that all this is part of a bigger plan ... concocted by the purple nose and Moyes poor fella has been setup to fail from day one ... so half way through the season Fergie will be begged by the fans, the media, the world and who will do so for one last time, walk back in, sign all those he wants to in January window and get them back on track ... meanwhile the refs and the PL and FA all will play their part to make sure they fuck us and Chelsea enough to let the bastard back in ... if not win the title, at least make a good credible meal out of it.

I mean all the proof I need to all this is just that statement by him about Rooney putting in transfer request just before he fucled off and knowing Moyes/Rooney history he just left that there after pretty much lighting a spark under it ... now why would he do that? And since then he's gone missing somewhere, not a beep, is probably sitting somewhere laughing that all's going according to the plan ...

If this was reversed & happening at City, the press would be absolutely crucifying us & laughing in delight as Utd signed players.

Most of the reports are as positive as they could possibly be considering the situation. They are helping with damage limitation.

Sometimes I amaze myself with my pure hatred of anything scum. There nothing I would like to see more than another Wilf McGuiness episode, but I have a nasty suspicion it's not going to happen just yet.
