What's Happening With The Rags?

Here is the place to talk about all things city and football!

Re: What's Happening With The Rags?

Who is actually leaking these stories, is it the media to keep their Rag populus buying their wares or is it the Rags so they keep their supporters and investors happy?

Either way, if they don't do something soon then the allegiances they have created may start to turn.

Anybody see a new floatation in the offing?

I'm not sure where you're coming from again mate as I've not seen any posts relating to the Rags falling apart, just how they are operating and what the consequences could be. Is there no chance of them falling out of the top 2?

If anything, I think they'll be getting plenty of help if it's looking a bit dodgy, but that's just me, a real cynic when it comes to the Rags.

Probably about right to be fair but I wouldn't take them out of the running considering the changes over the closed season. I think Chelsea have got the squad and manager to win the league and it will be a measure of Pellers skills if we are round and about come May next year.

I wouldn't be surprised if Arsenal get a good start either.

A good chance. I just wonder if Spurs have pissed on their chips whilst dealing with Real. I'd put a pound to a penny that Levy wants the money for Bale but by forcing the issue, even out-priced Real.

I'd suggest the same is with Shrek and that the Rags really do want rid. His wages in the current climate (Rag climate) are astronomical and for someone who could go down hill in the next couple of years, they want a return now.

You're a top poster and I know you're most optimistic of city fans when it come to those fuckers struggling so I won't have a go, but last year they done fuck all in the transfer window until they signed the cunt that won them the league and community plate.

I for one will not be counting any chickens till the window is closed and they've lost five in a row.

One of my strongest memories of footy growing up was me and my brother listening to the derby on the radio with us 2-0 up (1993?) the batteries were low so we switched off for a while, we all know what happened next, I think that broke me as an optimist for life lol.

I think both players will be with their current clubs at the end of the window. I certainly hope rughead is.

They certainly do talk shite but letting that little turd swap his shirt number on the excuse that 25 is luckier? Well really? Really??
Those scheming twats are up to no good and I don't think we should be so quick to dismiss the possibility that tranny will return to the swamp.

Also, the fact is that as long as the window remains open and as long as tranny hasn't signed his much heralded new contract then it could happen. They haven't spent hardly a dime as yet but they are setting things up for wooney to leave in a huff (which will bring in circa £25 / 30 million and free up £250k pw salary) and while the rags have freed up their number 7 shirt (which they had to do if its part of a possible tranny deal before the season kicks off because it does before the window closes) it's on the cards hypothetically at least.
Why would tranny get sold? Well, he's more expensive than bale will be in salary terms and that's where the majority of a players cost resides. Also, tranny is great now but won't keep his resale value forever and he's a cranky demanding bitch whereas bale would be easier to manage.
Knock it all you like but a tranny to the rags deal could happen this summer if everything falls into place for them - it could be that they've been arranging tranny specific sponsorship for years on the basis of a deal already agreed with tranny's agent but I just hope that levy's fucked it up by pricing bale out of reach and thereby stopping the market and curtailing the rag dream.

PS. And what I hope for even more is that we spring a little surprise and bring in a name that will shock the market as per TH's proclamations on bluemoan. Might even be tranny to us - which would be so funny that I'd have a little wee - but extremely unlikely so my pants are staying dry I recon.

PPS. If it was bizzies then it was a scouse warehouse and ergo fantasy - if it was a police raid in manchester then it'd be dibble on course.
If we had De Gea and the rags had Hart, we'd be top with a 9 point lead and they'd be in 12th place - that's the difference between a 'good' keeper and a 'top class' keeper - 12 places - think about it.

Mate, I'm of exactly the same view and that's why I wouldn't right them off. However, if threads like this start changing peoples thinking and bring on the mentality that they aren't invincible then all the better. We are seeing cracks in the usually solid Rags mentality, from the club to their fans, and the sooner everybody cuts out the 'We've lost before we've even played' shit, the better it will be for all.

Like I said mate, I expect them to be there one way or the other but there's nothing wrong with discussing their current situation and whether this is the time where things, at least, begin to unravel. Spin, spin and more spin seems to be their MO these days and no moreso than this season. Like I've said though, why is that, why is it they are allowing themselves to be linked with every top player yet not really having a real say in the market?

Oh well - back to reality!!!

After 3 weeks in Cyprus I flew back yesterday - the newspaper handed out by BA was the Daily Mail and fuck me it seemed to be a total wankfest!!

I could not bring myself to read it too closely but it seemed to about 5 pages ranging from lauding Persie on the back page to starting the Moyes 'trophy count' and on and on.

I did watch the game (as I had bets on) - I thought they were average at best!!

If Rooney goes then they'll need somebody like Tranny to come in just to keep everybody on side, and it's a possibility. It's whether somebody will come in and take Shrek off their hands for the money asked and take over his wages. Mourinho looks to be taking the piss or at most, trying to sort the finances out. It'd be nice to think it's the former but as you said, a last minute deal could be struck and the Rags are back on Cloud 9.

PS. Welcome back 1630 something, good to see you had a nice holiday. If there was one Rag Top you didn't want to see, it was that one.

. . .I seriously think Tranny back to the swamp could just turn out to be a disaster for them and perfect for us.
If it happens - you will have TWO high-powered ego's competing to be the big fish and Moyes , who is not used to BIG club management and BIG ego management , trying to referee the ensuing catfight . It'll be an ugly and very expensive MESS for them and a good season-long laugh for the rest of football. NEITHER will want to play second fiddle , BOTH will expect to be the focal point of attack - Please , PLEASE let it happen , cos I know it's just not going to fly . . . .

Would Ancelotti really want to get rid of Tranny and bring in Bale? I know he doesn't have the ultimate say at Real but do you swap an established world class player who nets you over 50 goals a season for a relatively untried whose average contribution for Spurs is 10 goals a season. OK, he got 26 last season but do you swap that for what you already have, doubled? And what about Perez, how would he be seen by the Real fans, selling their prize asset for a few bananas?

It just doesn't add up to me. The Rags are now supposedly in for Bale even though Levy has already stated he'd want 100 mil for him; really? Then there's the Modric link, and that's the only one that I could see possible (if possible) but even that would cost them in the region of 35 mil for a player that's well down their list of acquisitions. How would the Rags react to that, knowing that they've gone from the likes of Tranny, Fabregas, Thiago and Bale to an ex-Spurs player who couldn't get any game time at Real?

All very suspect and all very much a 'muchness' for me.
